## What it does

The skill acts as a front door. It asks for your Instagram or TikTok handle, then has you choose a trend type. Four options are on the menu — talking-to-camera, silent POV, dance and stitch/duet — each with a short explanation of what the shoot involves. Unsure? It can read your profile and suggest a format, or pull a sampler of real trend cards across all four so you just pick one.

Once a format is locked, the skill reads its playbook from `formats/<format>.md` and follows it to the end. Talking and duet finish with a teleprompter handoff: an approved script goes out as a short link like `https://teleprompter.pika.bot/r?t=...`, plus a QR image for the phone and a status URL to poll for the uploaded file. Recording ratio defaults to `9:16`; a playbook may ask for `16:9`, `1:1` or `4:5` instead.

Carousels and transitions are outside this skill — ask for those and it says so and stops. Under the hood it leans on Pika MCP tools: media analysis, social scraping, editing, transcription, reference-video generation. Call them under whatever prefix your session exposes; without Pika MCP access the pipeline has nothing to run on.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Pika-Labs/Pika-Plugins --skill content-director -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/content-director/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/content-director/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Pika-Labs/Pika-Plugins --skill content-director -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/content-director/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Pika-Labs/Pika-Plugins --skill content-director -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/content-director/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Pika-Labs/Pika-Plugins content-director
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/content-director/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Pika-Labs/Pika-Plugins --skill content-director -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/Pika-Labs/Pika-Plugins --path skills/content-director
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/content-director/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Pika-Labs/Pika-Plugins --skill content-director -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/Pika-Labs/Pika-Plugins/tree/HEAD/skills/content-director/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- choose a trend format when you have no idea where to start
- get a format recommendation from your Instagram or TikTok profile
- browse real trends across all four formats and pick a card
- shoot a talking video from a finished script with a teleprompter
- cut a duet response to a viral original

## Example prompts
- Be my content director, my handle is `@myhandle`
- Not sure which format — look at my profile and recommend one
- Show me trends across all four formats, I want to pick a card

  Use when the user asks for content director or a task matching the examples below.
  All-in-one content director that bundles FOUR format specialists — talking-to-camera,
  silent POV, dance, and stitch/duet — behind a single front door. Ingests the user's
  Instagram or TikTok handle, then in Stage 0 asks which KIND of trend they want to make
  (talking / POV / dance / duet, each explained), recommends a format from their profile
  when they're unsure, and can present a cross-format sampler menu (~10 real trend cards
  with links spanning all four formats) so the user picks one card. Once a format (and
  optionally a specific trend) is locked, it loads the matching format playbook from
  `formats/<format>.md` and runs that pipeline end-to-end. Triggers — "be my content director" (when
  the user wants to choose a format), "what kind of trend should I make", "talking vs pov
  vs dance vs duet", "show me trends across formats", "content director bundle",
  "content-director".

# Content Director — Bundle (format router)

> Tools below are **Pika MCP** tools, named bare — call each under whatever prefix your session exposes for the Pika MCP.

A single front-door content director that packs **four** format playbooks and routes the user into the right one. Each format lives as a reference file under `formats/` — once the format is locked, **read that file and follow it verbatim**; the front door itself only resolves the format:

| Format | Format playbook | One-liner | Teleprompter? |
|---|---|---|---|
| **Talking-to-camera** | `formats/talking.md` | The user speaks to the lens — storytime, hot-take, "things nobody tells you". Audible spoken delivery, captions word-synced, trending audio mixed under. The user films. | ✅ Yes — script needs reading aloud |
```
