## What it does

The skill equips the AI agent with domain guidelines for the construction industry. It supplies reference context for OSHA regulations, IBC and IRC building codes, AIA contracts, LEED certification, and ISO 19650 BIM workflows. File operations are handled through `Read`, `Write`, and `Edit` tools.

The logic includes ready-made Python classes for safety tracking via `SafetyManagementSystem`. This structure handles incident reporting, safety inspection checklists, and metric calculations for OSHA Incident Rate and DART scores. Scaffolding for multi-discipline conflict analysis is provided through the `BIMManagement` class.

Clash detection routines only simulate inspection passes, requiring you to hook actual Revit or Navisworks endpoints manually.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add personamanagmentlayer/pcl --skill construction-expert -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/construction-expert/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/construction-expert/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add personamanagmentlayer/pcl --skill construction-expert -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/construction-expert/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add personamanagmentlayer/pcl --skill construction-expert -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/construction-expert/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install personamanagmentlayer/pcl construction-expert
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/construction-expert/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add personamanagmentlayer/pcl --skill construction-expert -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/personamanagmentlayer/pcl --path stdlib/domains/construction-expert
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/construction-expert/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add personamanagmentlayer/pcl --skill construction-expert -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/personamanagmentlayer/pcl/tree/HEAD/stdlib/domains/construction-expert/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- calculate OSHA Incident Rate and DART metrics from recorded jobsite hours
- generate safety audit checklists covering fall protection and scaffolding integrity
- structure incident reports with root cause categorization
- set up data models for BIM clash detection aligned with ISO 19650

## Example prompts
- Generate a safety audit checklist covering fall protection and personal protective equipment.
- Calculate our OSHA Incident Rate for 120,000 project hours and two moderate injuries.
- Write a Python data model for tracking construction clashes across model disciplines.
