## What it does

The skill points the agent at the Twilio REST API through typed `twilio-client` bindings instead of hand-rolled `ic.http_request` calls to `api.twilio.com`. The package ships 35 API modules covering Messaging v1 and the v2010 messaging path: Account, Message, Media, IncomingPhoneNumber and its variants, AvailablePhoneNumber, and the A2P registries. Voice, recordings, conferences, queues, SIP and usage records are not in the package.

The author is blunt about the state of it: no call has ever left this client. The write path used to discard its arguments and post an empty body; the wire format now matches Twilio's docs, but structurally correct is not verified. Treat the first successful send as the acceptance test. Every message is billed, so a failed experiment is not free.

Credentials go in through an admin-gated setter checked against `AccessControl.hasPermission(state, caller, #admin)` and stay in the canister. Use an API Key (`SK…` plus its Secret) in production, since it can be revoked; the Auth Token is the account and belongs in dev only. The Account SID (`AC…`) is still required — it sits in the URL path of every v2010 operation. A US-bound production number also needs A2P 10DLC registration, which means fees and weeks of lead time, so settle which number sends before writing code.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add caffeinelabs/skills --skill connector-twilio -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/connector-twilio/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/connector-twilio/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add caffeinelabs/skills --skill connector-twilio -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/connector-twilio/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add caffeinelabs/skills --skill connector-twilio -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/connector-twilio/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install caffeinelabs/skills connector-twilio
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/connector-twilio/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add caffeinelabs/skills --skill connector-twilio -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/caffeinelabs/skills --path skills/connector-twilio
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/connector-twilio/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add caffeinelabs/skills --skill connector-twilio -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/caffeinelabs/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/connector-twilio/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- send an SMS from a Caffeine canister through the Twilio REST API
- check delivery status and error code with `fetchMessage`
- find and buy a number with the SMS capability
- register a brand and campaign for US A2P 10DLC
- run toll-free number verification

## Example prompts
- Send an SMS through Twilio from my Messaging Service number
- Show the delivery status of the last message
- Set up an MMS with an image URL

  every message is billed, and a US-bound production number additionally needs
  A2P 10DLC registration (fees, weeks of lead time). Say both things to the user

  configures Twilio messaging, from a canister, the `twilio-client` mops package

  supported path. Hand-rolling `ic.http_request` calls to `api.twilio.com` or
  `messaging.twilio.com` is a FORBIDDEN anti-pattern — it bypasses the typed

  becoming ~13 billed messages. Load this skill whenever the user, spec, or any
  prior task mentions SMS, MMS, "text message", "send a text", phone numbers,
  Twilio, a Messaging Service, A2P 10DLC, toll-free verification, short codes, or
  an alphanumeric sender — and BEFORE writing any code that touches a Twilio
