## What it does

The connect skill decides which wiki the current session should use: team pages on the Nimbalyst server or Markdown files stored in the repository. Run it at the start of a task before wiki tools, or after errors such as `repo_not_bound`, `ambiguous_project`, `pin_mismatch`, or `No local wiki`.

For a local wiki, it can call `initLocalWiki` and create `nimbalyst-local/wiki`, or a checked-in path such as `docs/wiki`. The team option uses the `nimbalyst-team` server and requires a Nimbalyst sign-in plus a repository connected to a team project. Without those requirements, team pages cannot be used.

The skill reads `.nimbalyst/wiki.json` and `.nimbalyst/local-wiki.json`, works out the repository remote, and keeps one session from writing through both wiki servers. The `update` skill handles page content, while `setup` covers types and the guide page. It works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add nimbalyst/nimbalyst --skill connect -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/connect/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/connect/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add nimbalyst/nimbalyst --skill connect -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/connect/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add nimbalyst/nimbalyst --skill connect -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/connect/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install nimbalyst/nimbalyst connect
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/connect/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add nimbalyst/nimbalyst --skill connect -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/nimbalyst/nimbalyst --path plugins/nimbalyst-wiki/skills/connect
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/connect/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add nimbalyst/nimbalyst --skill connect -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

## When to use it
- choose the wiki for the current session
- link a repository to a team project
- start a local wiki in the checkout
- handle a `No local wiki` error
- prevent duplicate writes through two servers

## Example prompts
- Connect this repository to the team wiki and choose its project for this session.
- Start a local wiki in `docs/wiki`, then continue the task there.
- After `repo_not_bound`, check whether this repository is linked to a team project.

# Connect to the wiki

This skill only decides which wiki the session uses and, for a team wiki, connects the repository to its project. What to write, and how, is in the `update` skill; types and the guide page are in `setup`.

## Nimbalyst desktop comes first

If the desktop app's wiki tools are available (`mcp__nimbalyst-trackers__*`, or `listPages` from a server whose name contains neither `nimbalyst-team` nor `nimbalyst-local`), you are running inside Nimbalyst, which already reaches the same pages, team and local. Use those tools and do not call this plugin's tools in this session: two write paths into the same pages produce duplicates.

## Two wikis, two servers

This plugin has two wiki servers with the same tool names (`listPages`, `readCollabDoc`, `applyCollabDocEdit`, `createSharedDoc` and the rest):

- **`nimbalyst-team`**: the team project's pages on the Nimbalyst server. It comes in the `nimbalyst-wiki-team` add-on plugin, which the `team` skill installs. Needs a Nimbalyst sign-in and a repository connected to a team project. Every call takes `repo` and, when pinned, `project`.
- **`nimbalyst-local`**: the project's local wiki, a folder of markdown files in the repository (default `nimbalyst-local/wiki`, kept out of git; or a checked-in folder such as `docs/wiki`). No account, no `repo` or `project` arguments. `initLocalWiki` creates it. The Nimbalyst app, `nim` and any editor read the same files.

Decide once per session which one you use, then call only that server's tools for wiki work. Never write the same thing to both. Team data never goes through `nimbalyst-local`: it refuses team uris, console links and team issue keys and names the tool to use on `nimbalyst-team`.

1. If the user names one ("our team wiki", "a local wiki", "the wiki in docs/"), use it.
2. If `.nimbalyst/local-wiki.json` at the repository root has `migratedTo` (`{ orgId, projectId, at }`), the local wiki was moved to that team project. Use the team wiki, and tell the user in one line: "This project's wiki moved to the team project; using it." Pass `project: { orgId, projectId }` from `migratedTo` when there is no `.nimbalyst/wiki.json` pin. Do not write to the local wiki: its files are kept only as the copy it was moved from. If `pages_status` says the user cannot reach that project, say so and ask whether to use the local copy for this session.
```
