# company-brain

A skill that turns team notes on people, meetings, SOPs and decisions into a vault an agent can answer from. Useful when knowledge is scattered across chats and transcripts.

## What it does

company-brain works in three layers: `raw/` with structured folders, `wiki/` with linked pages, and `outputs/` for generated artifacts. Inside `raw/` there are separate directories for people, companies, meetings, SOPs, decisions, customer language and sales objections. Every capture carries an author, a timestamp and a trust status.

There are seven modes: capture, compile, query, review, lint, connect and search. `compile` builds wiki pages plus `INDEX.md`, `query` answers with trust weighting and saves the result to `outputs/`, and `review` marks stale captures as `deprecated` or `superseded`. Raw files are never deleted, so history stays around.

The vault lives at `${COMPANY_BRAIN_VAULT:-$HOME/Documents/CompanyBrain}/` unless you point the variable elsewhere. The skill leaves `Projects/`, `Team/`, `Templates/` and `Drafts/` alone. If your vault already has a `CLAUDE.md` or `AGENTS.md`, that file wins over the bundled schema — worth checking that its field list is current.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add coreyhaines31/makerskills --skill company-brain -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/company-brain/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/company-brain/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add coreyhaines31/makerskills --skill company-brain -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/company-brain/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add coreyhaines31/makerskills --skill company-brain -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/company-brain/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install coreyhaines31/makerskills company-brain
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/company-brain/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add coreyhaines31/makerskills --skill company-brain -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/coreyhaines31/makerskills --path skills/company-brain
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/company-brain/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add coreyhaines31/makerskills --skill company-brain -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

## When to use it
- log a meeting into a shared base with author and date
- compile a team wiki out of scattered notes
- find who on the team is the internal expert on a topic
- mark a stale capture deprecated instead of deleting it
- build a library of customer objections with responses

## Example prompts
- /cb capture — save this call transcript into the team brain
- /cb query what does the team know about CRM integrations
- /cb review — check for stale captures and flag what should be deprecated

# /company-brain — Team-shared AI-ready knowledge base

**Company Brain** *(n.)*: Your team's shared, AI-ready knowledge base — people, companies, meetings, SOPs, and decisions structured so Claude can answer questions on your team's behalf.

Team-scope sibling to `second-brain` (personal-scope). Same core compile → wiki → outputs pattern; different raw schema optimized for multi-author, sales-heavy, ops-heavy team use.

Also the operational backbone for the **Company Brain Setup** productized service (was previously called "Second Brain as a Service"; renamed to match the skill).

## Mental model

Three layers, same as second-brain — but the raw/ layer is *structured*, not flat:

```
raw/          →  wiki/         →  outputs/
(structured      (compiled        (generated
 by category)     interlinked)     artifacts)
```

**Structured raw/ dirs** (each is its own top-level folder in the vault):

| Dir | What lives here |
|---|---|
| `people/` | Contacts with context — CRM-lite. One markdown file per person. |
| `companies/` | Org profiles — last touchpoint, opportunity size, status. One file per company. |
| `meetings/` | Call/meeting transcripts + notes. Naming: `YYYY-MM-DD-<company-or-topic>-<slug>.md`. Auto-sync source. |
| `sops/` | Standard operating procedures. Named: `<team>-<process>.md` (e.g., `sales-outbound-cadence.md`). |
| `decisions/` | Decision records (narrative form; `decide` skill's structured form is different). |
| `customer-language/` | Verbatim phrases from prospects/customers/users. Fuels copy, headlines, objections. |
