# commandcode-delegate

Sends a bounded coding task to the Command Code CLI as a background implementer, then leaves the diff review and the commit to you.

## What it does

The skill makes your orchestrating agent the one writing briefs. Command Code CLI (`cmd`) does the typing in your working tree, and the bundled `scripts/relay.mjs` wraps `cmd -p`, captures the run and writes a structured `result.json` — so your side of the loop is just running a command and reading a file. Relay artifacts go to a temp directory, not into the repository. The relay never commits.

Headless mode has exactly two states. Without `--yolo`, read, grep and glob work, while every write, edit and shell call is refused, and there is no prompt to grant them mid-run. With `--yolo`, every tool is allowed anywhere the process can reach. No filesystem sandbox, no path restriction. So an implementation run is a full-trust run: scope it with a tight brief and a clean tree, not with a sandbox. `--permission-mode auto-accept` and `--tools-all` do not lift the headless write gate. If writes outside the target tree are unacceptable, use an OS-enforced sandbox or a container.

Check `cmd --version` and `cmd status` once before dispatching. You need the Command Code CLI installed and authenticated (`cmd login`), Node 22+ and git. On native Windows the binary is `cmdc`, since `cmd` is the system shell there, and WSL is recommended for stable use. Keep the repo tree clean first — a full-trust diff is far easier to review against a clean baseline.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add amElnagdy/delegate-skills --skill commandcode-delegate -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/commandcode-delegate/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/commandcode-delegate/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add amElnagdy/delegate-skills --skill commandcode-delegate -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/commandcode-delegate/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add amElnagdy/delegate-skills --skill commandcode-delegate -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/commandcode-delegate/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install amElnagdy/delegate-skills commandcode-delegate
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/commandcode-delegate/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add amElnagdy/delegate-skills --skill commandcode-delegate -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/amElnagdy/delegate-skills --path skills/commandcode-delegate
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/commandcode-delegate/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add amElnagdy/delegate-skills --skill commandcode-delegate -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/amElnagdy/delegate-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/commandcode-delegate/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- hand a feature implementation to a separate CLI and stay the reviewer
- run a queue of coding tasks through Command Code
- get a structured `result.json` instead of parsing logs
- continue an interrupted session by `sessionId` with only a delta brief
- review the diff against a clean tree before committing

## Example prompts
- delegate this to commandcode: add pagination to the orders list
- run the payments module refactor through cmd
- have Command Code fix the failing test, I'll review the diff

compatibility: Requires the Command Code CLI (`cmd`, or `cmdc` on Windows, from commandcode.ai) installed and authenticated, Node 22+, and git. The orchestrating agent must be able to run shell commands and read files. Shell examples assume bash/zsh (macOS/Linux).

# Command Code Delegate

You are the **orchestrator**. This skill lets you hand a bounded coding task to a separate
**implementer** — the Command Code CLI (`cmd`) — then review what it produced and land it yourself.
You write the brief and own the judgment; Command Code does the typing in your working tree; you
verify and commit.

Nothing here is specific to one orchestrating agent. The loop needs only the ability to run a shell
command and read a file, so it works the same whether you are Claude Code, OpenCode with a selected
model, or any comparable agent. (It is designed for and run on Claude Code; treat other orchestrators
as designed-for, not yet proven.)

## When NOT to use this

- The task is small enough to just do inline — delegation overhead is not worth it.
- The `cmd` CLI is not installed or not authenticated (run `cmd login`).
- You want to write the code yourself, or you only need a review (Command Code has its own `/review`).
- You are on native Windows and `cmdc --version` does not work. Upstream recommends WSL for stable Windows use.

## Read this before the first dispatch: the autonomy model

Command Code's headless mode has **exactly two states, with nothing in between**:

- **Default (`-p` with no `--yolo`):** read, grep, and glob work. Every write, edit, and shell call is
