## What it does

The skill lays out a workflow for native cmux changes. It routes contributors to the relevant local or CI validation, with `python3 scripts/verify-local.py` as the starting check. App and build-input work uses tagged commands such as `./scripts/reload.sh --tag <short-tag>` and `CMUX_TAG=<short-tag> scripts/cmux-debug-cli.sh list-workspaces`.

Running `./scripts/setup.sh` prepares submodules, compiles GhosttyKit, and adds the project-normalization hook. After Xcode project edits, run `python3 scripts/verify-local.py --only project`; the hook also records new Python tests in the test configuration. Sidebar extensions use `scripts/reload-extension.sh --tag <tag>` together with the corresponding host.

Tags keep bundle IDs, sockets, and build output apart across sessions. A plain `xcodebuild` invocation and an untagged `cmux DEV.app` are disallowed, and the user’s active cmux process must not be stopped or restarted.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add manaflow-ai/cmux --skill cmux-dev-workflow -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/cmux-dev-workflow/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/cmux-dev-workflow/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add manaflow-ai/cmux --skill cmux-dev-workflow -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/cmux-dev-workflow/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add manaflow-ai/cmux --skill cmux-dev-workflow -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/cmux-dev-workflow/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install manaflow-ai/cmux cmux-dev-workflow
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/cmux-dev-workflow/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add manaflow-ai/cmux --skill cmux-dev-workflow -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/manaflow-ai/cmux --path skills/cmux-dev-workflow
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/cmux-dev-workflow/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add manaflow-ai/cmux --skill cmux-dev-workflow -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/manaflow-ai/cmux/tree/HEAD/skills/cmux-dev-workflow/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- prepare a tagged native cmux build
- validate edits to the Xcode project
- build a sidebar extension with its matching host
- register new Python tests
- separate outputs from concurrent dev sessions

## Example prompts
- Prepare a tagged native cmux build with `./scripts/reload.sh --tag <short-tag>`.
- Review `cmux.xcodeproj/project.pbxproj` changes and choose the matching local validation.
- Build the sidebar extension with `scripts/reload-extension.sh --tag <tag>` and check its matching host.
