## What it does

This skill covers CloudBase storage from browser code through `@cloudbase/js-sdk`: `uploadFile`, `downloadFile`, `getTempFileURL` and `deleteFile`. It keeps the agent away from neighbouring jobs such as Mini Program file APIs, MCP-side storage management and static hosting via `manageHosting`.

For local dev it lays out a recipe. The agent reads the security-domain whitelist with `queryEnv` (`action="domains"`), turns an origin like `http://localhost:5173` into `localhost:5173`, and adds it with `envDomainManagement` (`action="create"`). Changes take a few minutes to land, so it polls the list instead of sleeping.

A bucket has to exist before the first upload. Without one the SDK returns `STORAGE_NOT_EXIST` on NoSQL or `STORAGE_BUCKET_NOT_FOUND` on PG with `pgstore`, and DevTools then shows a request to `https://undefined/`. Editing frontend code won't fix that. On PG the old NoSQL bucket doesn't count, so create a new one. Temporary URLs are not permanent links.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TencentCloudBase/skills --skill cloud-storage-web -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/cloud-storage-web/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/cloud-storage-web/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TencentCloudBase/skills --skill cloud-storage-web -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/cloud-storage-web/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TencentCloudBase/skills --skill cloud-storage-web -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/cloud-storage-web/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install TencentCloudBase/skills cloud-storage-web
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/cloud-storage-web/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TencentCloudBase/skills --skill cloud-storage-web -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/TencentCloudBase/skills --path skills/cloud-storage-web
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/cloud-storage-web/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TencentCloudBase/skills --skill cloud-storage-web -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/TencentCloudBase/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/cloud-storage-web/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- upload a file from the browser to CloudBase storage with `uploadFile`
- generate a temporary download link via `getTempFileURL`
- delete a stored file from frontend code
- whitelist `localhost:5173` as a security domain before testing uploads
- figure out why an upload fails with `STORAGE_BUCKET_NOT_FOUND`

## Example prompts
- Use cloud-storage-web to add file upload to my page with `app.uploadFile()`
- Upload fails with `STORAGE_NOT_EXIST`, check the storage setup and retry
- Make a temporary download link for this file with `getTempFileURL`

## Sibling skills (local only)

Sibling CloudBase skills ship beside this skill. Use local relative paths such as `../auth-tool-cloudbase/SKILL.md`.

If a referenced sibling skill file is missing from this environment, ask the user to install the full CloudBase plugin (or the missing skill). Do **not** HTTP-fetch remote skill or protocol markdown into the agent context.

# Cloud Storage Web SDK

## Activation Contract

### Use this first when

- A browser or Web app must upload, download, or manage CloudBase storage objects through `@cloudbase/js-sdk`.
- The request mentions `uploadFile`, `getTempFileURL`, `deleteFile`, or `downloadFile` in frontend code.

### Read before writing code if

- The task is browser-side storage work but you still need to separate it from Mini Program storage, backend storage management, or static hosting deployment.
- The request may be blocked by security domains or frontend auth.

### Then also read

- Web login and identity -> `../auth-web-cloudbase/SKILL.md`
- General Web app setup -> `../web-development/SKILL.md`
- Direct storage management through MCP tools -> `../cloudbase-platform/SKILL.md`

### Do NOT use for

- Mini Program file APIs.
- Backend or agent-side direct storage management through MCP.
- Static website hosting deployment via `manageHosting(action="upload")`.
- Database operations.

### Common mistakes / gotchas

- Uploading from browser code without configuring security domains.
- Using this skill for static hosting instead of storage objects.
- Mixing browser SDK upload flows with server-side file-management tasks.
- Assuming temporary download URLs are permanent links.
- Ignoring `STORAGE_NOT_EXIST`; it means the target storage bucket/resource is not ready, not that the browser upload code should fabricate a URL.
- On local Vite or dev-server tasks, forgetting to whitelist the exact current browser `host:port` before testing `app.uploadFile()`.
