## What it does

This skill covers technology costs across AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, AI services, SaaS, and on-premises or hybrid setups. Ask about inference spending, Kubernetes allocation, data platforms, or subscriptions to coding tools. It also addresses concrete cost concerns such as idle VMs, NAT gateway charges, and cloud commitments.

Its guidance starts with diagnosing the spend and relating it to value before recommending changes. The skill routes questions to topic-specific reference files; Bedrock billing and GenAI capacity planning, for instance, have separate references. To install in Claude Code, run `npx skills add OptimNow/cloud-finops-skills --skill cloud-finops -a claude-code`; recommendations still need to be checked against your actual billing and usage data.
