## What it does

This skill gives an agent a CLI for Godot project work. It can create projects and scenes, inspect scene structure, add child nodes, list scenes, scripts, and resources, and re-import project resources.

The same interface runs a GDScript file, executes inline code, and validates script syntax. It can list export presets, build every preset, or build one selected preset. Add `--json` for structured output; `session` starts an interactive REPL.

Godot 4.x must be available on `PATH`, or you need to set `GODOT_BIN`. Check that binary path first, because the skill depends on a working Godot installation.

## Requirements
- Works with: Godot

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add HKUDS/CLI-Anything --skill cli-anything-godot -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/cli-anything-godot/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/cli-anything-godot/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add HKUDS/CLI-Anything --skill cli-anything-godot -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/cli-anything-godot/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add HKUDS/CLI-Anything --skill cli-anything-godot -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/cli-anything-godot/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install HKUDS/CLI-Anything cli-anything-godot
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/cli-anything-godot/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add HKUDS/CLI-Anything --skill cli-anything-godot -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/HKUDS/CLI-Anything --path skills/cli-anything-godot
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/cli-anything-godot/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add HKUDS/CLI-Anything --skill cli-anything-godot -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/HKUDS/CLI-Anything/tree/HEAD/skills/cli-anything-godot/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- create a Godot project at a chosen path
- inspect a scene and add a child node
- validate a GDScript file
- run a script or inline GDScript code
- build an export with a selected preset

## Example prompts
- Create a Godot project in `./my-game`, name it `My Game`, and return project information with `--json`.
- Read `scenes/Level1.tscn`, then add a `CharacterBody3D` node named `Player` with `.` as its parent.
- Validate `scripts/player.gd`, then export the project with the `Windows Desktop` preset to `build/game.exe`.

cli-anything-godot project create <path> [--name "My Game"]

# Get project info (name, features, main scene)
cli-anything-godot --json -p <project> project info

# List all scenes
cli-anything-godot --json -p <project> project scenes

# List all scripts
cli-anything-godot --json -p <project> project scripts

# List all resources
cli-anything-godot --json -p <project> project resources

# Re-import project resources
cli-anything-godot -p <project> project reimport
```
### Scene Operations
```bash
# Create a new scene with root node type
cli-anything-godot -p <project> scene create scenes/Level1.tscn --root-type Node3D

# Read scene structure (nodes, resources, connections)
cli-anything-godot --json -p <project> scene read scenes/Level1.tscn

# Add a child node to a scene
cli-anything-godot -p <project> scene add-node scenes/Level1.tscn --name Player --type CharacterBody3D --parent .
```
### GDScript Execution
```bash
# Run a GDScript file (must extend SceneTree)
cli-anything-godot -p <project> script run tools/build_navmesh.gd

# Run inline GDScript code
cli-anything-godot -p <project> script inline 'print(ProjectSettings.get_setting("application/config/name"))'

# Validate GDScript syntax
cli-anything-godot -p <project> script validate scripts/player.gd
```
### Export
```bash
# List configured export presets
cli-anything-godot --json -p <project> export presets

# Export all presets
cli-anything-godot -p <project> export build

# Export a specific preset
cli-anything-godot -p <project> export build --preset "Windows Desktop" --output build/game.exe
```
### Engine
```bash
# Check Godot availability and binary path
cli-anything-godot --json engine status

# Get engine version

```
## JSON Mode
Add `--json` flag to any command for structured JSON output suitable for agent consumption:
```bash
cli-anything-godot --json -p ./my-game project info
```
## Interactive REPL
```bash
cli-anything-godot -p ./my-game session
```
