## What it does

This skill connects AI coding tools to Firefly III using the CLI-Anything specification. It converts operations that typically require an MCP server into stateless CLI executions. The design choice prevents orphaned Node processes from staying in memory.

The agent runs commands across accounts, budgets, tags, and transactions. Adding the `--json` flag formats the output so models parse records directly without text scraping.

Running the tool requires Python 3.10 or newer, a live Firefly III instance, and a personal access token. You configure authentication via the `FIREFLY_III_BASE_URL` and `FIREFLY_III_PAT` environment variables.
