# cli-anything-eth2-quickstart

Automates Ethereum node provisioning through canonical eth2-quickstart shell scripts. It sets up consensus clients and inspects node health without exposing private keys.

## What it does

This CLI serves as an agent harness for the `chimera-defi/eth2-quickstart` repository. Rather than replacing the underlying automation, it executes the existing shell scripts directly. The skill coordinates pairs like Geth with Lighthouse or Prysm, handling options for MEV-Boost and Commit-Boost. Config settings are written straight to `config/user_config.env`.

All operations accept `--json` so the agent receives structured output. Actions such as `setup-node`, `install-clients`, and `start-rpc` enforce human confirmation before making changes. Node health checks run without manual prompts. The harness respects reboot boundaries.

Secret management stays out of scope. The skill sets validator metadata like fee recipient addresses or graffiti, but it never generates or imports validator keys. A local clone of `eth2-quickstart` is mandatory, as the CLI will fail if it cannot locate the repo via `--repo-root`, `ETH2QS_REPO_ROOT`, or the working directory.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add HKUDS/CLI-Anything --skill cli-anything-eth2-quickstart -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/cli-anything-eth2-quickstart/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/cli-anything-eth2-quickstart/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add HKUDS/CLI-Anything --skill cli-anything-eth2-quickstart -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/cli-anything-eth2-quickstart/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add HKUDS/CLI-Anything --skill cli-anything-eth2-quickstart -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/cli-anything-eth2-quickstart/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install HKUDS/CLI-Anything cli-anything-eth2-quickstart
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/cli-anything-eth2-quickstart/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add HKUDS/CLI-Anything --skill cli-anything-eth2-quickstart -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/HKUDS/CLI-Anything --path skills/cli-anything-eth2-quickstart
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/cli-anything-eth2-quickstart/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add HKUDS/CLI-Anything --skill cli-anything-eth2-quickstart -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- deploy Ethereum execution and consensus clients with client diversity
- configure MEV-Boost or Commit-Boost for node validators
- expose RPC safely using Nginx or Caddy web stacks
- set fee recipient and graffiti metadata without touching wallets
- inspect host health with machine-readable JSON output

## Example prompts
- Run a machine-readable health check on the Ethereum node
- Install Geth and Lighthouse clients on mainnet with MEV-Boost
- Expose the RPC interface behind Nginx for `rpc.example.org`

# cli-anything-eth2-quickstart

Agent-native harness for the `chimera-defi/eth2-quickstart` automation repo.
This CLI wraps the repo's canonical shell scripts instead of replacing them.

## When To Use

Use this skill when the task involves:

- bootstrapping a fresh Ethereum node host
- installing execution and consensus clients with explicit client diversity
- enabling MEV-Boost or Commit-Boost workflows
- exposing RPC through Nginx or Caddy
- updating validator fee recipient or graffiti settings without handling secrets
- checking machine-readable health with `--json`

## Core Commands

```bash
# Canonical machine-readable health
cli-anything-eth2-quickstart --json health-check
# Phase 2 install with explicit client choices
cli-anything-eth2-quickstart --json install-clients \
  --network mainnet \
  --execution-client geth \
  --consensus-client lighthouse \
  --mev mev-boost \
  --confirm
# Guided node setup
cli-anything-eth2-quickstart --json setup-node \
  --phase auto \
  --execution-client geth \
  --consensus-client prysm \
  --mev commit-boost \
  --confirm
# Validator metadata only; no key import
cli-anything-eth2-quickstart --json configure-validator \
  --consensus-client prysm \
  --fee-recipient 0x1111111111111111111111111111111111111111 \
  --graffiti "CLI-Anything"
# Install nginx-backed RPC exposure
cli-anything-eth2-quickstart --json start-rpc \
  --web-stack nginx \
  --server-name rpc.example.org \
  --confirm
```

## Safety Rules

- Always use `--json` for agent parsing.
- Require human confirmation before `setup-node`, `install-clients`, or `start-rpc`.
- Do not generate validator keys.
- Do not remove secrets or wallet material.
- Treat `configure-validator` as metadata and operator-guidance only.
- Respect the reboot boundary between Phase 1 and Phase 2.

## Runtime Expectations

- Operates on a local `eth2-quickstart` checkout.
- Discovers repo root from `--repo-root`, `ETH2QS_REPO_ROOT`, or current working directory.
- Writes compatible overrides into `config/user_config.env` when flags map directly to repo settings.
