## What it does

The harness exposes 41 CloudCompare commands organized into nine functional groups. It covers JSON project tracking, session history, point cloud operations (subsampling via random, spatial, or octree methods; bounding-box cropping; SOR denoising; normal estimation), mesh tools, C2C and C2M distance calculations, ICP alignment, and file conversion across LAS, LAZ, PLY, PCD, OBJ, STL, and E57. Output can be directed to JSON using the global `--json` flag.

Using this skill requires an existing CloudCompare installation on the host machine alongside Python 3.10 or newer. It was tested against CloudCompare 2.13.2 via Flatpak on Linux. Commands call the underlying desktop application, so running this inside a bare container without CloudCompare binaries will fail immediately.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add HKUDS/CLI-Anything --skill cli-anything-cloudcompare -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/cli-anything-cloudcompare/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/cli-anything-cloudcompare/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add HKUDS/CLI-Anything --skill cli-anything-cloudcompare -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/cli-anything-cloudcompare/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add HKUDS/CLI-Anything --skill cli-anything-cloudcompare -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/cli-anything-cloudcompare/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install HKUDS/CLI-Anything cli-anything-cloudcompare
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/cli-anything-cloudcompare/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add HKUDS/CLI-Anything --skill cli-anything-cloudcompare -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/HKUDS/CLI-Anything --path skills/cli-anything-cloudcompare
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/cli-anything-cloudcompare/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add HKUDS/CLI-Anything --skill cli-anything-cloudcompare -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/HKUDS/CLI-Anything/tree/HEAD/skills/cli-anything-cloudcompare/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- subsample dense 3D point clouds using octree or spatial distance
- remove noise and outliers from laser scans using SOR filtering
- calculate point-to-point (C2C) and point-to-mesh (C2M) distances
- convert 3D geometry between LAS, PLY, PCD, OBJ, and STL formats

## Example prompts
- Create a new project file myproject.json and add the scan at /data/scan.las using cli-anything-cloudcompare.
- Subsample cloud index 0 to 0.05m point spacing with spatial method and save to /data/sub_spatial.las.
- Filter noise from cloud 0 using cloud filter-sor with JSON output.

**41 commands** across 9 groups.

## Installation

```bash
pip install cli-anything-cloudcompare
```

**Prerequisites:**
- Python 3.10+
- CloudCompare installed on your system
  - Linux (Flatpak): `flatpak install flathub org.cloudcompare.CloudCompare`

## Global Options

These options must be placed **before** the subcommand:

```bash
cli-anything-cloudcompare [--project FILE] [--json] COMMAND [ARGS]...
```

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
