## What it does

The skill picks up whenever you work on a CRE workflow in Go or TypeScript. It routes by topic table instead of loading everything: triggers (CRON, HTTP, EVM logs), EVM read/write, secrets, monitoring, deploy and lifecycle. You do not have to say "CRE" for it to apply.

The references cover getting started and login, project scaffolding, simulation, workflow patterns, the EVM and HTTP clients, operations, SDK types and CLI flags. Ask it to build something and it aims for a complete runnable project: with filesystem and shell access it writes the project into the run directory and executes the receiver-free `local-simulation` target before reporting back. Sensitive values, account-scoped IDs, addresses and irreversible inputs are listed as prerequisites rather than filled with sample data.

Tool access is narrow: `Read`, `WebFetch`, `Write`, `Edit` and `Bash(cre:*)`. Anything outside `cre` will not run, so install the CLI and log in before you start. Requests about CRE Connect watchers, gas-less Smart Accounts, dta.v2 or private-document LLM inference get handed to companion skills; enclave workflow logic without a document stays here.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add smartcontractkit/chainlink-agent-skills --skill chainlink-cre-skill -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/chainlink-cre-skill/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/chainlink-cre-skill/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add smartcontractkit/chainlink-agent-skills --skill chainlink-cre-skill -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/chainlink-cre-skill/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add smartcontractkit/chainlink-agent-skills --skill chainlink-cre-skill -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/chainlink-cre-skill/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install smartcontractkit/chainlink-agent-skills chainlink-cre-skill
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/chainlink-cre-skill/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add smartcontractkit/chainlink-agent-skills --skill chainlink-cre-skill -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/smartcontractkit/chainlink-agent-skills --path chainlink-cre-skill
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/chainlink-cre-skill/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add smartcontractkit/chainlink-agent-skills --skill chainlink-cre-skill -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/smartcontractkit/chainlink-agent-skills/tree/HEAD/chainlink-cre-skill/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- scaffold a new CRE workflow in TypeScript or Go
- simulate a workflow before deploy and debug the failure
- wire a CRON, HTTP or EVM-log trigger into a workflow
- move secrets out of code and configure them for a workflow
- check exact SDK signatures and CRE CLI flags

## Example prompts
- Build a CRE workflow in TypeScript with a CRON trigger and run local-simulation
- The simulation fails on an EVM read — debug it and show the fixed code
- Show the exact flags for `cre workflow simulate` and how to deploy the workflow

## Answer Contract

Every requested workflow, code file, contract/interface, config, or command is emitted in full in the response body — never a completion summary, a "here's what I did" recap, or an unverified success claim. A request to create or build a CRE workflow — including "help me get started" only when it asks to build that workflow — requires a complete runnable project: use clearly labeled safe sample values only for missing, genuinely non-sensitive, reversible inputs; list sensitive values, account-scoped IDs, deployment values, addresses, and irreversible inputs as explicit prerequisites that must never receive sample values; and never defer code to a follow-up. When filesystem/shell tools are available, every build/create/setup request must write that project into the run directory and execute its native receiver-free `local-simulation` target before reporting; returning illustrative prose/files or an unexecuted command is incomplete. An install/init/first-simulation-only onboarding request may use the generated `hello-world-ts` workflow unchanged; custom code and config are required when the user asks to modify or build a workflow. When no execution tool is available, give the exact commands and complete file contents, state plainly that nothing ran and the user must run them, and never answer a "did it work" question with an unearned yes.
