With `--send`, it gathers the right, conduct, relationship and demand, then drafts a letter based on the enforcement posture. A pre-delivery gate runs before the final draft is written, with the approval matrix brought into that review. With `--receive`, it accepts a path to an incoming letter or pasted text, assesses exposure, and writes an options memo with a recommendation. A firm-response recommendation can lead into send mode. Recommendations involving a declaratory judgment action or TTAB cancellation go to outside counsel under the practice profile. It reads the practice profile at `~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal/ip-legal/CLAUDE.md` and may load matter context. Trademark rights are checked against the declared jurisdictions. Surface both in the gate; do not smother them. 6. **Hand off where appropriate.** In receive mode, if the recommendation is to respond firmly, offer to chain into `/ip-legal:cease-desist --send` pre-populated with the response context.
