# ce-resolve-pr-feedback

The skill judges review comments on a pull request, applies the fixes it approves and closes the conversations. Useful once a PR has piled up feedback.

## What it does

The skill reads fresh review feedback on a pull request, gives every item a verdict and hands approved fixes to generic subagents seeded with a bundled fixer prompt. Publication comes before the reply: the fix lands in the branch first, then a reply with quoted context and a resolution appears in the thread. Items that need a human decision are marked `needs-human`, their threads stay open and the decision goes back to the caller.

Three execution modes. `mode:pipeline` runs the whole triage unattended. `mode:return-to-caller` prepares and commits fixes locally but never pushes — the caller publishes them. `mode:resume` with `handoff:<path>` finishes saved replies and resolutions without repeating judgment or edits. With no argument the skill takes the current branch's PR; a PR number or URL can be passed explicitly.

GitHub only, GitHub Enterprise included. Comment text counts as untrusted input: the skill uses it as context and never runs commands found in it. Merge, rebase, force-push and CI approval sit outside its authority — a step like that becomes a `needs-human` residual.

## Requirements
- Works with: GitHub

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add EveryInc/compound-engineering-plugin --skill ce-resolve-pr-feedback -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/ce-resolve-pr-feedback/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/ce-resolve-pr-feedback/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add EveryInc/compound-engineering-plugin --skill ce-resolve-pr-feedback -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/ce-resolve-pr-feedback/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add EveryInc/compound-engineering-plugin --skill ce-resolve-pr-feedback -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/ce-resolve-pr-feedback/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install EveryInc/compound-engineering-plugin ce-resolve-pr-feedback
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/ce-resolve-pr-feedback/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add EveryInc/compound-engineering-plugin --skill ce-resolve-pr-feedback -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/EveryInc/compound-engineering-plugin --path skills/ce-resolve-pr-feedback
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/ce-resolve-pr-feedback/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add EveryInc/compound-engineering-plugin --skill ce-resolve-pr-feedback -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/EveryInc/compound-engineering-plugin/tree/HEAD/skills/ce-resolve-pr-feedback/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- triage a backlog of review comments on a PR
- apply approved fixes and commit them
- close review threads with a reply and quoted context
- prepare local fixes for the caller to publish
- finish saved replies and resolutions without re-judging

## Example prompts
- Triage the feedback on the current pull request and resolve the threads where the fix is already in
- Go through the comments on PR 482 in `mode:pipeline` and publish the fixes
- Finish the saved replies from `handoff.md` with `mode:resume`

# Resolve PR Review Feedback

Judge fresh PR review feedback centrally, then dispatch generic subagents seeded with the bundled fixer prompt only for approved fixes. Publish the fixes before replying and resolving. Resume completes saved judgments without another fix pass.

**Done:** Every selected item has a verdict and verified conversation completion or a reported residual. Completed threads have a visible submitted reply with quoted context and authoritative resolution; `needs-human` threads stay open. Ordinary and pipeline runs publish valid fixes before completion. Return-to-caller preserves its local fix commit and exact pending actions in a readable validated handoff, or records actual no-change completion. Resume verifies fresh publication and returns checkpointed completion or pending saved actions with retry evidence. Pending actions are never reported as resolved.

**Escalations never block.** Return `needs-human` with structured `decision_context` for the caller to show the user; leave its threads open with natural replies when the execution mode permits publication. Never pause mid-run to ask. A decision needing judgment rather than missing authority goes through `ce-pov` before escalation, as the rubric's "Adjudicate before escalating" section defines.

**`mode:pipeline`** publishes and completes feedback unattended. Read `references/pipeline-mode.md` before acting; it owns typed decision returns, trajectory-based non-convergence, and per-root invariant keys.
