# ccf-skill-forger

Builds and audits skills in the CCFA family: trigger wording, references, scripts, documentation SVGs. Pays off once a skill collection drifts away from its shared rules.

## What it does

This skill handles the upkeep of CCFA skills. It looks at trigger wording in the YAML description, at links into shared references, at scripts, at documentation diagrams, and at the checks that run before a release. Research writing and review are explicitly out of scope, as its own description says.

Everything follows the family contract. Before touching files it sets up a working directory at `ccfa-workfiles/<purpose>/<artifact-id>/`, edits in place, and keeps UTF-8 with checks for Chinese text. Specialist work starts by reading `ccf-humanization`, then `ccf-common`, and the `metadata.ccf_skill_controls` block stays in every `SKILL.md`. Skill names take lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, up to 64 characters; the default location is `$CODEX_HOME/skills`, falling back to `~/.codex/skills`.

Relative links point at `../ccf-common/references/`, so a lone install leaves them dangling. Worth checking that `ccf-common` and `ccf-humanization` sit next to it. `ccf-common/scripts/check_path_privacy.py` runs before you finish, and generated SVGs are not edited by hand: the change goes into `tools/build_ccfa_diagrams.py`, which rebuilds every language variant.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mikubaka88/CCFA-Skills --skill ccf-skill-forger -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/ccf-skill-forger/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/ccf-skill-forger/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mikubaka88/CCFA-Skills --skill ccf-skill-forger -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/ccf-skill-forger/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mikubaka88/CCFA-Skills --skill ccf-skill-forger -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/ccf-skill-forger/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install mikubaka88/CCFA-Skills ccf-skill-forger
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/ccf-skill-forger/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mikubaka88/CCFA-Skills --skill ccf-skill-forger -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/mikubaka88/CCFA-Skills --path ccf-skill-forger
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/ccf-skill-forger/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mikubaka88/CCFA-Skills --skill ccf-skill-forger -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/mikubaka88/CCFA-Skills/tree/HEAD/ccf-skill-forger/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- scaffold a skill with trigger wording in its description
- strip placeholder files and unused folders from a bundle
- cross-check `SKILL.md` against the shared family rules
- catch absolute paths and usernames before a commit
- regenerate documentation diagrams from the generator

## Example prompts
- Create a skill called `release-notes` under `$CODEX_HOME/skills`, with the long checklists in `references/`.
- Audit my skill for stale relative links and leftover placeholder files.
- Regenerate the architecture diagrams with `tools/build_ccfa_diagrams.py` and check the rendered SVG.

# CCF Skill Forger

## Family File Contract

Before file work, reuse canonical paths and one task/artifact working directory; default to project-root `ccfa-workfiles/<purpose>/<artifact-id>/`. Update in place, preserve inputs, and use UTF-8 with Chinese-text checks. Apply [artifact-contracts.md](../ccf-common/references/artifact-contracts.md) for naming, ownership, and task-created cleanup; handoffs inherit these paths.

## Collaboration Contract

Before specialist execution, read and apply [ccf-humanization](../ccf-humanization/SKILL.md) first, then [ccf-common](../ccf-common/SKILL.md). At every handoff, reuse their applicable active rules or refresh missing/changed ones. Both preflights are required even without prose; detailed editing, experiment, and maintenance modes run only when relevant.

Integrate necessary specialist contributions under one owner; reuse valid prerequisites and verify affected results. Follow the [cooperation routes](../ccf-common/references/routing.md) without duplicate reports.

## Invocation Controls

**CCFA Handoff Mode: PARTIAL (Recommended).** Follow `metadata.ccf_skill_controls.handoff_question_mode` and `../ccf-common/references/handoff-modes.md` when maintaining the CCFA skill family.

When maintaining the CCFA skill family, preserve `metadata.ccf_skill_controls` in each `SKILL.md`. Do not add sibling-skill transitions without checking `../ccf-common/references/routing.md`, `../ccf-common/references/task-modes.md`, `../ccf-common/references/handoff-modes.md`, and the denylist-respecting fallback.

If the user disables a skill or asks for writing-only behavior, encode that boundary directly in the edited skill instructions. Do not weaken idea-scope protection in writing skills unless the user explicitly requests that policy change.
