## What it does

cargo-analytics measures workflow runs and retrieves their data. It reports run metrics, counts records by status, and downloads results for individual runs or batches. Segment and model data can be exported as CSV or JSON.

The skill uses Cargo CLI commands for predefined workflow metrics or SQL queries over `runs`, `batches`, `spans`, and `records`. Find the relevant resource first when a command needs a UUID. You need `@cargo-ai/cli` and a Cargo login; authentication can use an emailed code, OAuth, or an API token.

This skill reports what happened; it does not investigate why a run failed. Use `cargo-diagnostics` to trace causes, and `cargo-billing` for plans, invoices, or credits. If you have not found the workflow UUID, start with a Cargo resource-list command.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add getcargohq/cargo-skills --skill cargo-analytics -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/cargo-analytics/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/cargo-analytics/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add getcargohq/cargo-skills --skill cargo-analytics -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/cargo-analytics/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add getcargohq/cargo-skills --skill cargo-analytics -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/cargo-analytics/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install getcargohq/cargo-skills cargo-analytics
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/cargo-analytics/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add getcargohq/cargo-skills --skill cargo-analytics -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/getcargohq/cargo-skills --path cargo-analytics
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/cargo-analytics/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add getcargohq/cargo-skills --skill cargo-analytics -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/getcargohq/cargo-skills/tree/HEAD/cargo-analytics/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- download results from a workflow run
- export segment or model data as CSV or JSON
- count runs with an error status
- check workflow metrics for a date range
- query run and batch data with SQL

## Example prompts
- Download the results for the finished run in workflow `workflow-uuid`.
- Export the segment for model `model-uuid` as CSV.
- Count runs with an error status for workflow `workflow-uuid`.

# Cargo CLI — Analytics

Measurement and export: monitoring run metrics, downloading run and batch results, and exporting segment data.

> See `references/response-shapes.md` for full JSON response structures.
> See `references/troubleshooting.md` for common errors and how to fix them.
> See `references/examples/run-analytics.md` for run metrics and error monitoring.
> See `references/examples/exports.md` for data export and download examples.
> For billing, usage metrics, and subscription: use the `cargo-billing` skill.

## Bootstrap

Already signed in (`cargo-ai whoami` returns a workspace)? Skip to the next section.

```bash
npm install -g @cargo-ai/cli            # no global install? prefix every command with `npx @cargo-ai/cli`
cargo-ai login --email you@company.com  # emailed code, no browser; creates the account on first use
                                        # alternatives: --oauth (browser) · --token <api-token> (CI)
cargo-ai whoami                         # confirm the active workspace before any write
```

Every command prints JSON to stdout; failures exit non-zero with `{"errorMessage": "..."}`. Anything that creates a run or a batch is async — pass `--wait-until-finished` or poll the matching `get`. When the full skill bundle is installed, [`../cargo/references/prerequisites.md`](../cargo/references/prerequisites.md) adds the CLI version pin, token scopes, and the admin-only surface.

## Scope — measure and export, not explain

This skill answers **"what happened"** and **"give me the data"**: metrics, counts, downloads, exports. The moment the question becomes **"why"** — why did this run fail, why is the output wrong or empty, which root cause explains these errors, why is this play so expensive — switch to the `cargo-diagnostics` skill; its runbooks sequence the raw surfaces into a diagnosis.
