## What it does

This skill guides cloud builds via `@capgo/cli` to produce signed IPA, APK, and AAB packages. It assists with interactive onboarding using `build init`, sets up App Store Connect API keys or Android keystores, and requests builds delivered directly to app stores or temporary download links.

The workflow uses `build needed` to check whether changes require a full native rebuild or just an OTA bundle update. It also executes `build prescan` to detect bundle identifier mismatches between `capacitor.config.*` and native configs before cloud runners start.

A global credential file at `~/.capgo` overrides local repository keys in `./.capgo`. Switching developer organizations per project requires setting the `CAPGO_TOKEN` environment variable directly.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Cap-go/capgo-skills --skill capgo-native-builds -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/capgo-native-builds/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/capgo-native-builds/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Cap-go/capgo-skills --skill capgo-native-builds -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/capgo-native-builds/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Cap-go/capgo-skills --skill capgo-native-builds -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/capgo-native-builds/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Cap-go/capgo-skills capgo-native-builds
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/capgo-native-builds/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Cap-go/capgo-skills --skill capgo-native-builds -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/Cap-go/capgo-skills --path skills/capgo-native-builds
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/capgo-native-builds/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Cap-go/capgo-skills --skill capgo-native-builds -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/Cap-go/capgo-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/capgo-native-builds/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- build signed IPA and AAB binaries using Capgo Cloud Build
- configure mobile signing certificates through `build init`
- verify if native compilation is needed with `build needed`
- upload mobile artifacts directly to TestFlight or Google Play

## Example prompts
- Run build needed for com.example.app on production to check if a native build is required
- Initialize iOS signing credentials and App Store Connect keys with build init
- Request a native Android cloud build with --output-upload for Google Play

  Use for Capgo Cloud Build (Capgo Build) native iOS and Android workflows, including CLI login and API-key precedence, `build init` onboarding, signing credential save/update/export, `build request` with TestFlight, App Store, or Play upload, temporary IPA/APK/AAB download links (`--output-upload`), prescan failures, `build needed` OTA-vs-native gating, and CI secrets. Use when errors mention "No credentials found for this app and platform", "Legacy provisioning profile format detected", "Missing required argument: --platform", or prescan check ids. Do not use for OTA bundle uploads (capgo-release-management), updater plugin setup (capgo-live-updates), or local Xcode/Gradle builds and generic CI runners (capacitor-ci-cd).

# Capgo Native Builds

Build signed iOS and Android binaries on Capgo Cloud Build and deliver them to the stores or to a temporary download link.

Facts below were checked against `@capgo/cli` 8.77 and https://capgo.app/docs/builder/ (October 2026). The CLI describes native cloud builds as "limited beta".

## When to Use

TRIGGER when:

- The user asks for a Capgo Cloud Build, a native build in the cloud, a signed IPA/APK/AAB, a TestFlight, App Store, or Play upload through Capgo, or a temporary build download link or QR code.
- The user runs or asks about `build init`, `build request`, `build prescan`, `build needed`, `build last-output`, `build sync-ios-version`, or any `build credentials ...` subcommand.
- A Capgo build fails on signing, provisioning, keystore, prescan, or store upload.

Do not use when:

- Only JavaScript/web assets change. That is an OTA release: use `capgo-release-management`, or `capgo-live-updates` for plugin wiring.
- The user builds locally in Xcode or Gradle, or on their own CI runners without Capgo Build. Use `capacitor-ci-cd`.
- The user needs store listing, metadata, or review prep. Use `capacitor-app-store` and `capacitor-apple-review-preflight`.
- The user is upgrading Capacitor itself. Use `capacitor-app-upgrades`.

## Reference Index

Only load a reference when its topic is in play.

| File | Load when |
| --- | --- |
| `references/request-options.md` | Building the exact `build request` flags: store submission, tracks, release notes, versioning, cache, Xcode version, prescan flags |
| `references/credentials-and-ci.md` | Saving, updating, exporting, or migrating credentials, and pushing them into CI secrets |

## Secrets and Confirmation

- Never ask the user to paste a Capgo API key, signing password, `.p8` key, keystore, or service-account JSON into the chat. Ask them to run `npx @capgo/cli@latest login` themselves (it opens the browser or asks for the key in a masked prompt), or to set `CAPGO_TOKEN` in their shell or CI secret store.
