## What it does

Reach for this skill when `package.json` still lists `@ionic-enterprise/auth`, `@ionic-enterprise/identity-vault` or `@ionic-enterprise/secure-storage`. The agent scans dependencies on its own, lists what it found and asks which plugin to migrate first. Then it works one plugin at a time so the edits stay readable.

A mapping table drives the swap: Auth Connect becomes `@capawesome-team/capacitor-oauth`, Identity Vault becomes `@capawesome-team/capacitor-vault` plus `@capawesome-team/capacitor-biometrics`, and Secure Storage splits into `@capawesome-team/capacitor-secure-preferences` or `@capawesome-team/capacitor-sqlite`. Each pair has its own reference file with an API table, the differences that bite, and before/after code. Installation and platform configuration are handed off to the `capacitor-plugins` skill; this one keeps the uninstall and the code replacement. It finishes with a `grep` sweep for leftover `@ionic-enterprise` imports, `npx cap sync`, and a build check.

You need a Capawesome Insiders license key up front. Every replacement plugin lives in a private npm registry, so without the key `npm install` fails with a 404 or an auth error. Node.js, npm and a Capacitor 6, 7 or 8 app are the rest of it. Identity Vault gets its own decision: if data already sits on devices, the skill asks whether to preserve it or do a hard cutover, and the preserve path keeps the old plugin in the project until the runtime data migration has shipped.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add capawesome-team/skills --skill ionic-enterprise-sdk-migration -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/ionic-enterprise-sdk-migration/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/ionic-enterprise-sdk-migration/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add capawesome-team/skills --skill ionic-enterprise-sdk-migration -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/ionic-enterprise-sdk-migration/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add capawesome-team/skills --skill ionic-enterprise-sdk-migration -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/ionic-enterprise-sdk-migration/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install capawesome-team/skills ionic-enterprise-sdk-migration
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/ionic-enterprise-sdk-migration/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add capawesome-team/skills --skill ionic-enterprise-sdk-migration -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/capawesome-team/skills --path skills/ionic-enterprise-sdk-migration
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/ionic-enterprise-sdk-migration/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add capawesome-team/skills --skill ionic-enterprise-sdk-migration -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**

## When to use it
- find discontinued Ionic Enterprise plugins in a project and pick replacements
- port Auth Connect calls to OAuth while keeping the same scopes
- move key-value storage from Secure Storage to Secure Preferences
- decide whether to keep Identity Vault data on devices or cut over
- strip leftover `@ionic-enterprise` imports before a release

## Example prompts
- Scan package.json and tell me which Ionic Enterprise plugins we still use
- Start migrating `@ionic-enterprise/auth` to `@capawesome-team/capacitor-oauth`
- We want to preserve Identity Vault data on devices — walk me through the steps

# Ionic Enterprise SDK Migration

Migrate Capacitor apps from discontinued Ionic Enterprise SDK plugins to Capawesome alternatives.

## Plugin Mapping

| Ionic Enterprise Plugin | Package | Capawesome Replacement | Package(s) |
| ----------------------- | ------- | ---------------------- | ---------- |
| Auth Connect | `@ionic-enterprise/auth` | OAuth | `@capawesome-team/capacitor-oauth` |
| Identity Vault | `@ionic-enterprise/identity-vault` | Vault (+ Biometrics) | `@capawesome-team/capacitor-vault` (+ `@capawesome-team/capacitor-biometrics`) |
| Secure Storage (key-value) | `@ionic-enterprise/secure-storage` | Secure Preferences | `@capawesome-team/capacitor-secure-preferences` |
| Secure Storage (SQLite) | `@ionic-enterprise/secure-storage` | SQLite | `@capawesome-team/capacitor-sqlite` |

All Capawesome replacement plugins require a [Capawesome Insiders](https://capawesome.io/insiders/) license.

## Prerequisites

1. **Capacitor 6, 7, or 8** app.
2. Node.js and npm installed.
