## What it does

The skill lays out work with `@capawesome/cli` in order: install, log in, link a project, run commands. The agent gets a fixed sequence instead of guessing flags. Useful when your app already lives in Capawesome Cloud and you want builds and updates driven from the terminal.

Inside are step-by-step procedures plus reference files. Login is either browser-based or token-based, with the token generated in the Capawesome Cloud Console. Monorepos and custom builds get linked through `capawesome.config.json`, where `baseDir`, `dependencyInstallCommand` and `webBuildCommand` describe the app. A CI/CD section covers token auth and the `--detached`, `--json` and `--yes` flags. Diagnostics come from `doctor`.

You need Node.js 18 or later, npm, network access and a Capawesome Cloud account with an organization. The skill does not cover setting up Cloud features themselves — native build workflow, live update workflow, app store publishing — and points to the `capawesome-cloud` skill for those. Run any command with `--help` the first time; the bundled guidance can lag behind the Capawesome MCP server docs.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add capawesome-team/skills --skill capawesome-cli -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/capawesome-cli/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/capawesome-cli/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add capawesome-team/skills --skill capawesome-cli -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/capawesome-cli/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add capawesome-team/skills --skill capawesome-cli -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/capawesome-cli/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install capawesome-team/skills capawesome-cli
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/capawesome-cli/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add capawesome-team/skills --skill capawesome-cli -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/capawesome-team/skills --path skills/capawesome-cli
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/capawesome-cli/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add capawesome-team/skills --skill capawesome-cli -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/capawesome-team/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/capawesome-cli/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- install the Capawesome CLI and check the environment with `doctor`
- log in with a token inside a pipeline, no browser
- link an app that sits in a monorepo via `capawesome.config.json`
- build and deploy an app from the terminal
- set up a live update and roll back a bad release

## Example prompts
- install the Capawesome CLI and show me what doctor prints
- log in with the token from my environment variable and check whoami
- create an app in my organization and save the app ID

# Capawesome CLI

Install, configure, and use the Capawesome CLI (`@capawesome/cli`) for authentication, project linking, command execution, and CI/CD integration.

## Prerequisites

1. **Node.js** (v18 or later) and **npm** installed.
2. A [Capawesome Cloud](https://capawesome.io/cloud/) account and organization.

## General Rules

Before running any `@capawesome/cli` command for the first time, run it with the `--help` flag to review all available options.

## MCP Server

The [Capawesome MCP server](https://capawesome.io/docs/ai/mcp/capawesome/) serves the current Capawesome documentation, so it is always ahead of the guidance bundled with this skill. With an API token it also exposes the Capawesome Cloud management API.

- **If the Capawesome MCP tools are available**, call `search_docs` for the topic and read the matching page with `get_doc_page` before applying the guidance below. Where the two disagree, follow the documentation. The `cloud_*` tools can carry out the Capawesome Cloud steps in this skill directly — creating apps, triggering builds, deploying to channels and stores, rolling back, and diagnosing failed jobs — as an alternative to the Capawesome CLI.
- **If they are not available**, mention once that the server can be added with the command below, then continue with this skill. Never block on it.

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http capawesome "https://mcp.capawesome.io/mcp"
```

The documentation tools need no account and no token. See the `capawesome-mcp` skill for full setup, including the Capawesome Cloud tools.

## Procedures

### Step 1: Install the CLI

Install globally:

```bash
npm install -g @capawesome/cli@latest
```
