## What it does

This skill covers in-app purchases and subscriptions in Capacitor apps. The agent inspects the project first: whether `android/` and `ios/` exist, which `@capacitor/core` version sits in `package.json`, and whether a purchases plugin is already installed. It only asks what it cannot detect.

Then it follows the procedures: creating products and subscriptions in App Store Connect and Google Play Console, picking between Capawesome Purchases and RevenueCat, installing the plugin and configuring the native projects, writing purchase code for subscriptions and consumables, restoring purchases, handling unfinished transactions on startup, and choosing a receipt validation strategy. Imports and code structure get adapted to your framework — Angular, React, Vue.

iOS work needs a paid Apple Developer Program membership, Xcode and an app in App Store Connect. Android needs a Google Play Developer account, Android Studio and an app in the console. Capawesome Purchases requires a Capawesome Insiders license and leaves server-side receipt validation to you; RevenueCat handles validation and analytics but needs an account. The skill is not for non-Capacitor mobile frameworks, Stripe payments or physical goods checkout.

## Requirements
- Works with: Stripe

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add capawesome-team/skills --skill capacitor-in-app-purchases -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/capacitor-in-app-purchases/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/capacitor-in-app-purchases/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add capawesome-team/skills --skill capacitor-in-app-purchases -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/capacitor-in-app-purchases/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add capawesome-team/skills --skill capacitor-in-app-purchases -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/capacitor-in-app-purchases/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install capawesome-team/skills capacitor-in-app-purchases
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/capacitor-in-app-purchases/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add capawesome-team/skills --skill capacitor-in-app-purchases -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/capawesome-team/skills --path skills/capacitor-in-app-purchases
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/capacitor-in-app-purchases/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add capawesome-team/skills --skill capacitor-in-app-purchases -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/capawesome-team/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/capacitor-in-app-purchases/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- create products and subscriptions in App Store Connect and Google Play Console
- pick between Capawesome Purchases and RevenueCat for your app
- install a purchases plugin and configure the iOS and Android projects
- write purchase code for subscriptions and consumables in your framework
- restore purchases and finish pending transactions on app startup

## Example prompts
- Help me set up in-app purchases in my Capacitor app
- Check package.json and tell me which purchases plugin fits
- Add subscription purchase code and restore purchases

# Capacitor In-App Purchases

Set up in-app purchases and subscriptions in Capacitor apps, covering store configuration, plugin integration, purchase flows, receipt validation, and testing.

## Prerequisites

1. **Capacitor 6, 7, or 8** app (Capawesome Purchases requires Capacitor 8+; RevenueCat requires Capacitor 8+).
2. Node.js and npm installed.
3. For **iOS**: A paid [Apple Developer Program](https://developer.apple.com/programs/) membership, Xcode installed, and an app created in [App Store Connect](https://appstoreconnect.apple.com).
4. For **Android**: A [Google Play Developer](https://play.google.com/console) account, Android Studio installed, and an app created in Google Play Console.

## Agent Behavior

- **Guide step-by-step.** Walk the user through the process one step at a time. Never present multiple unrelated questions at once.
- **Auto-detect before asking.** Check the project for platforms (`android/`, `ios/`), `package.json` dependencies, and Capacitor version. Only ask the user when something cannot be detected.
- **One decision at a time.** When a step requires user input, ask that single question, wait for the answer, then continue.
