## What it does

The skill covers release prep and submission to App Store Connect and Google Play Console. It handles version and build numbers (`CFBundleVersion`, `versionCode`), signing, archiving and uploading the IPA/AAB, TestFlight, Play tracks and closed testing, icons and screenshots, listing metadata, App Privacy and Data safety forms, age ratings, export compliance and phased rollout.

Inside there is an eight-step procedure plus reference files: `references/ios-submission.md`, `references/android-submission.md`, `references/assets-and-metadata.md`. The skill reads a snapshot of your project first — Capacitor version, whether `SceneDelegate.swift` exists, SDK values in `variables.gradle`, the `PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy` file. Its allowed tools are only `Bash(node -e *)` and `Bash(find *)`, so it will not run the build or the upload for you.

A separate table maps upload errors: ITMS-4238 for a redundant binary, ITMS-90062, ITMS-90186, ITMS-90725. Store deadlines are listed with dates too — new Play apps and updates must target API 36 from Aug 31, 2026, and Apple builds need Xcode 26+ with the iOS 26 SDK since April 28, 2026. Re-check those dates when a deadline is close. For a guideline-by-guideline Apple audit, CI pipeline authoring or Capgo Cloud Build there are other skills.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Cap-go/capgo-skills --skill capacitor-app-store -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/capacitor-app-store/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/capacitor-app-store/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Cap-go/capgo-skills --skill capacitor-app-store -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/capacitor-app-store/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Cap-go/capgo-skills --skill capacitor-app-store -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/capacitor-app-store/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Cap-go/capgo-skills capacitor-app-store
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/capacitor-app-store/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Cap-go/capgo-skills --skill capacitor-app-store -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/Cap-go/capgo-skills --path skills/capacitor-app-store
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/capacitor-app-store/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Cap-go/capgo-skills --skill capacitor-app-store -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/Cap-go/capgo-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/capacitor-app-store/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- prepare a first release for App Store Connect and Google Play Console
- bump the build number when an upload fails with ITMS-4238
- find out which Xcode and target API the stores require now
- put together icons, screenshots and listing metadata
- start closed testing in Play before production

## Example prompts
- prepare my Capacitor app for release to the App Store and Google Play
- my upload failed with ITMS-90725, what do I do
- which target API does Play require from Aug 31, 2026

# Publishing Capacitor Apps to the Stores

Get a Capacitor build from "runs on my device" to "live in both stores" without avoidable upload or review failures.

## When to Use

TRIGGER when:
- The user is preparing a first release or an update to App Store Connect or Google Play Console.
- Upload or processing fails (ITMS errors, Play Console version/target API errors).
- The user needs screenshot sizes, icon requirements, listing fields, privacy forms, or rollout options.
- The user asks which Xcode/SDK or target API level the stores require right now.

Do not use for:
- Auditing an app against App Review Guidelines or answering a rejection -> `capacitor-apple-review-preflight`.
- Writing GitHub Actions/GitLab/Fastlane pipelines -> `capacitor-ci-cd`.
- Building/signing in Capgo Cloud -> `capgo-native-builds`.
- Shipping web-only fixes after approval -> `capgo-live-updates`.

## Live Project Snapshot
