## What it does

The skill works out how a paid account should be built before anything goes live. It picks the campaign type — Search, PMax or broad — against the goal and how mature the intent is, then maps ad groups and asset groups so each one carries a single intent theme and no keyword sets bid against each other in the same auction.

Hygiene comes next: match types per theme, audience signals, negatives pulled from the search-terms report, and cross-campaign negatives that stop internal overlap. A separate step audits cannibalization — paid query themes get compared against organic landing pages in the GA4 traffic-acquisition export, and terms where the site already ranks and paid adds little incremental value get flagged.

Inputs are the account goal, exported campaign and search-terms reports, audience and placement reports, and the GA4 traffic-acquisition export. Keyed ad-platform APIs are optional; for Google Ads the sanctioned path is the official read-only Google Ads MCP, self-hosted, running GAQL over your own account. If the placements report is missing, the qualified ROAS-A1 item stays Unknown and no score is emitted. The skill does not compute the final RQS — it hands the structure to `ad-account-auditor`, and budget split belongs to `budget-optimizer`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill campaign-architect -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/campaign-architect/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/campaign-architect/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill campaign-architect -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/campaign-architect/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill campaign-architect -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**

## When to use it
- choose between Search, PMax and broad for a given goal
- lay out ad groups and asset groups around one intent theme
- build a negative-keyword list from the search-terms report
- stop campaigns from overlapping inside the account
- check whether paid is bidding against organic

## Example prompts
- Plan the paid account structure for [goal] on [platforms]. Here is my exported campaign + search-terms report: [paste/path]
- Should this be Search, PMax, or broad match? Lay out ad groups and the negative-keyword list for [themes]
- Audit paid↔organic cannibalization: here is my GA4 traffic-acquisition export and my campaign export

# Campaign Architect

Plans the structure of a paid-ads account — campaign types, ad-group/asset-group layout, targeting, match types, and negative/exclusion hygiene — and scores the ROAS **A (Audience)** dimension plus structure. It designs the paid account skeleton (distinct from organic site architecture) and hands the finished structure to the auditor that scores the full account; it does not compute the final RQS itself.
