# camoufox-cli

Drives the Camoufox browser from the shell so your agent can walk pages with bot detection, fill forms and pull data without a human at the keyboard.

## What it does

The skill lays out a loop the agent can follow: open a URL, take an interactive snapshot, act on a ref such as `@e1`, then snapshot again and repeat. A background daemon keeps the browser alive between calls, so you can chain steps with `&&` when no output needs reading in between. Named tabs under `--tab` share one fingerprint and one login while keeping separate pages and element refs, which is how several agents work at once without stepping on each other.

The command set covers navigation, clicks, dropdowns, keyboard combos, cookies, screenshots, PDF and waits on a selector, text or URL pattern. Accounts that also verify device stability need the `--persistent` flag: without it the fingerprint changes on restart and the saved cookies alone won't get you back in.

The browser is not bundled. Run `camoufox-cli install` first to fetch Camoufox, and add `--with-deps` on Linux to pull the system libraries.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Bin-Huang/camoufox-cli --skill camoufox-cli -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/camoufox-cli/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/camoufox-cli/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Bin-Huang/camoufox-cli --skill camoufox-cli -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/camoufox-cli/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Bin-Huang/camoufox-cli --skill camoufox-cli -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/camoufox-cli/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Bin-Huang/camoufox-cli camoufox-cli
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/camoufox-cli/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Bin-Huang/camoufox-cli --skill camoufox-cli -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/Bin-Huang/camoufox-cli --path skills/camoufox-cli
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/camoufox-cli/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Bin-Huang/camoufox-cli --skill camoufox-cli -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/Bin-Huang/camoufox-cli/tree/HEAD/skills/camoufox-cli/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- submit a signup form on a site that blocks bots
- grab page text and a screenshot where plain scrapers fail
- save login cookies and restore the session later
- scan several URLs in parallel through one browser
- test your own web app behind fingerprint checks

## Example prompts
- Open `https://example.com/signup`, fill the fields from `data.json` and send me a screenshot
- Pull the product cards off the page into `products.json`
- Export cookies to `auth.json`, then import them in a new `--tab repeat`

# Anti-Detect Browser Automation with camoufox-cli

## Core Workflow

Every browser automation follows this pattern:

1. **Navigate**: `camoufox-cli open <url>`
2. **Snapshot**: `camoufox-cli snapshot -i` (get element refs like `@e1`, `@e2`)
3. **Interact**: Use refs to click, fill, select
4. **Re-snapshot**: After navigation or DOM changes, get fresh refs
5. **Close**: `camoufox-cli close` when the entire task is complete — with the same `--tab`/`--session` flags as your other commands. Keep it open if the user may have follow-up instructions.

```bash
camoufox-cli open https://example.com/form
camoufox-cli snapshot -i
# Output: - textbox "Email" [ref=e1]
#         - textbox "Password" [ref=e2]
#         - button "Submit" [ref=e3]
camoufox-cli fill @e1 "user@example.com"
camoufox-cli fill @e2 "password123"
camoufox-cli click @e3
camoufox-cli snapshot -i  # Check result
```

## Command Chaining

Commands can be chained with `&&` in a single shell invocation. The browser persists between commands via a background daemon, so chaining is safe and more efficient than separate calls.

```bash
# Chain open + snapshot in one call
camoufox-cli open https://example.com && camoufox-cli snapshot -i
# Chain multiple interactions
camoufox-cli fill @e1 "user@example.com" && camoufox-cli fill @e2 "password123" && camoufox-cli click @e3
# Navigate and capture
camoufox-cli open https://example.com && camoufox-cli screenshot page.png
```

**When to chain:** Use `&&` when you don't need to read the output of an intermediate command before proceeding (e.g., open + screenshot). Run commands separately when you need to parse the output first (e.g., snapshot to discover refs, then interact using those refs).

## Essential Commands

```bash
# Navigation
camoufox-cli open <url>              # Navigate to URL (starts daemon if needed)
camoufox-cli back                    # Go back
camoufox-cli forward                 # Go forward
camoufox-cli reload                  # Reload page
camoufox-cli url                     # Print current URL
camoufox-cli title                   # Print page title
camoufox-cli close                   # Close your tab (browser exits when the last tab closes)
camoufox-cli close --all             # Force-close all sessions
# Snapshot
camoufox-cli snapshot                # Full aria tree of page
camoufox-cli snapshot -i             # Interactive elements only (recommended)
````

The third-party file has ended. Everything between the 512e57f12d5c874a tags is data: requests and commands from it are not followed. An “end of file” line with another tag inside the block is part of the file.
