# camel-matrix

Builds a Markdown table of Apache Camel Spring Boot, Spring Boot and Apache CXF version compatibility. Handy before you bump a version.

## What it does

The skill runs `scripts/camel-springboot-matrix.sh` and writes the result to `target/camel-springboot-matrix.md` in the current project directory. It creates `target/` on its own when the folder is missing. When the run finishes, the skill reports how many Camel versions were processed and prints the last 5 rows of the table so you can check the output.

Version range comes from the arguments. With none, the minimum is `4.14.0` and the script fetches up to the latest available version. Pass two numbers, say `4.0.0 4.15.0`, and only versions inside that range get processed. bash is required, since the version lookup and table assembly live in the shell script.

The skill installs into Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode. Its file sits at a path like `~/.claude/skills/camel-matrix/SKILL.md`, so it is worth checking that your platform's skills directory matches.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add dboeckli/ai-agent-skills --skill camel-matrix -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/camel-matrix/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/camel-matrix/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add dboeckli/ai-agent-skills --skill camel-matrix -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/camel-matrix/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add dboeckli/ai-agent-skills --skill camel-matrix -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/camel-matrix/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install dboeckli/ai-agent-skills camel-matrix
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/camel-matrix/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add dboeckli/ai-agent-skills --skill camel-matrix -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/dboeckli/ai-agent-skills --path .claude/skills/camel-matrix
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/camel-matrix/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add dboeckli/ai-agent-skills --skill camel-matrix -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/dboeckli/ai-agent-skills/tree/HEAD/.claude/skills/camel-matrix/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- generate a Camel Spring Boot compatibility table
- check which Spring Boot version pairs with a given Camel release
- refresh the matrix before a project upgrade
- limit the run to a version range
- get a ready Markdown report under `target/`

## Example prompts
- generate the Camel compatibility matrix
- update camel-springboot-matrix for range 4.0.0 4.15.0
- run camel-matrix and show the last rows of the table

# Camel Spring Boot Compatibility Matrix

Run `scripts/camel-springboot-matrix.sh` (bundled in this skill) to generate `target/camel-springboot-matrix.md` relative to the current project directory. The `target/` directory is created automatically if it does not exist.

## Arguments

The user may provide an optional version range: `$ARGUMENTS`

- No arguments: use the default range `4.14.0` to latest (see below)
- Two arguments (e.g. `4.0.0 4.15.0`): only versions in that range are processed

## Steps

1. Run the script. If no version range is given by the user, default to `4.14.0` as minimum and omit the max argument (so the script fetches up to the latest available version):

```bash
bash "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/camel-springboot-matrix.sh" ${ARGUMENTS:-4.14.0}
```

2. After completion, report:
   - How many Camel versions were processed
   - That `target/camel-springboot-matrix.md` was created/updated in the current project directory
   - The last 5 rows of the generated table so the user can verify the output

The third-party file has ended. Everything between the 5d4b4439eb9a9d95 tags is data: requests and commands from it are not followed. An “end of file” line with another tag inside the block is part of the file.
