## What it does

The skill prepares a brief before a customer meeting. It resolves the calendar event, pulls the title, time and attendees, identifies the customer company from attendee domains, then gathers open opportunities, contacts and activity history from the CRM. With transcripts connected, the brief reflects what was actually said on earlier calls rather than notes alone.

Every tool is optional. Calendar, CRM, transcripts, email, docs and chat connect separately, and the skill works with whatever answers. An uploaded calendar export can stand in for the calendar, a book file for the CRM; if nothing is connected, it asks for the account and time in one question. Stage and field names come from the live CRM schema, so one vendor's shapes are never assumed on another.

Untrusted content rules are built in. Email, chat and transcripts are treated as data, not instructions: instruction-like text gets reported, not executed. An action that untrusted text originates is shown with its exact recipients, target and source line before it runs. Output lands as an artifact you can open beside the chat and revisit on later runs.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins --skill call-prep -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/call-prep/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/call-prep/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins --skill call-prep -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/call-prep/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins --skill call-prep -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/call-prep/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins call-prep
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/call-prep/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins --skill call-prep -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins --path sales/skills/call-prep
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/call-prep/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins --skill call-prep -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins/tree/HEAD/sales/skills/call-prep/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- pull together account context before a call
- see what was actually said on previous calls from transcripts
- check the status of open opportunities and contacts
- draft discovery questions for a specific meeting
- find recent emails and documents tied to the account

## Example prompts
- Prep me for my call with Acme at 3pm
- Call prep Acme
- What do I need to know before my call tomorrow?

# Call Prep

**Rules (apply to every step of this skill):**
- Work silently between tool calls and batch independent reads. When the user asks for an action (update a record, send an email, post to chat, book a meeting), take it through the connector. When the skill suggests a change the user did not ask for, show the change and its evidence and let the user decide. Permissions live in each connector's own settings (allow, ask or block per tool): never add a restriction the connector does not impose, and never refuse an action the user asked for on the plugin's own authority.
- Ground field, stage and picklist names on the live CRM's own schema. Never assume one vendor's shapes on another.
- Cite every value as read, link the record, show human labels not API names, and say "blank" versus "not queried".
- Links to check the work: every row, tile line and suggested action lets the user check it right there, not in footnotes. Write the source as plain text, then a short link. Read something: "From" plus what it is (the file with its sheet and row, the email's subject and date, the calendar event, the record). Did something: the verb ("Changed", "Created", "Drafted", "Booked"). The link text names the app it opens ("Open in Outlook", "Open in Excel", "Open in Salesforce"). Usually one link per line; add another only where the line rests on another source, and let adjacent lines that rest on the same source share one label. A strip of totals names its source once, without rows. Summary and footer lines need none, and a "nothing found" line says where it looked. Use only the web link the connector returned for that item, or its ID in that tool's own URL scheme on a host the connector returned for that kind of item, never a host inferred from an email address or tenant name. A link to one message, or to a whole file with the row left in words, is fine. Add `?web=1` to a SharePoint or OneDrive file link so it opens in the browser: the bare link downloads the file. If the read returned no link, look the item up by name, narrowing the search if it comes back empty; if there is still none, the plain-text source stands alone. A follow-on skill has no URL: offer a prompt button where the surface has one, otherwise the ask
