## What it does

c-weather uses `curl` to request weather from wttr.in. It can return current conditions, a forecast for today and the next two days, or information for a named city. Choose a compact line, a detailed report, or JSON output. It can also retrieve the Moon phase.

The skill can use automatic location detection for current conditions, and you can specify a city directly. No API key is needed. Its requests rely on `curl`, so that command must be available for weather lookups to work. The guidance tells the agent to include temperature and conditions, and to mention the feels-like value when it differs noticeably.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-weather -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/c-weather/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/c-weather/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-weather -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/c-weather/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-weather -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/c-weather/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install daxaur/openpaw c-weather
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/c-weather/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-weather -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/daxaur/openpaw --path skills/c-weather
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/c-weather/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-weather -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**

## When to use it
- check current weather for your location
- get a forecast for a named city
- request weather data as JSON
- compare the feels-like temperature with the actual reading
- retrieve the Moon phase

## Example prompts
- What’s the weather like where I am? Include the temperature and conditions.
- Give me today’s forecast for `Berlin`.
- Fetch weather data for `London` as JSON.

# Weather — Forecasts & Conditions

Get weather information using `curl` and wttr.in. No API key required, no tool to install.

## Commands

```bash
# Current weather (auto-detects location)
curl -s "wttr.in?format=3"
# Detailed current conditions
curl -s "wttr.in?format=%l:+%c+%t+%h+%w+%p"
# Full forecast (today + 2 days)
curl -s "wttr.in"
# Specific city
curl -s "wttr.in/London"
curl -s "wttr.in/New+York"
curl -s "wttr.in/Tokyo"
# Compact one-line
curl -s "wttr.in/Paris?format=%l:+%c+%t+(feels+like+%f)+%h+humidity+%w+wind"
# Today only
curl -s "wttr.in/Berlin?1"
# JSON output for parsing
curl -s "wttr.in/London?format=j1"
# Moon phase
curl -s "wttr.in/Moon"
```

## Format Codes

| Code | Meaning |
|------|---------|
| `%c` | Weather icon |
| `%t` | Temperature |
| `%f` | Feels like |
| `%h` | Humidity |
| `%w` | Wind |
| `%p` | Precipitation |
| `%l` | Location |
| `%S` | Sunrise |
| `%s` | Sunset |

## Guidelines

- Default to the user's location (check memory/SOUL.md for city)
- Use compact format (`format=3`) for quick checks
- Use full output for detailed forecasts
- If the user asks about weather, always provide temperature and conditions
- Mention "feels like" temperature when it differs significantly
