## What it does

The skill sends Sonos commands through `sonos`. An agent can find rooms, start or stop playback, skip tracks, change volume, and check what is playing. It can also join rooms into a group, separate them, or play a favorite saved in the Sonos app.

Each command needs a `--room` argument to target the right speaker. Run `sonos rooms` to find room names. The `sonos` CLI (sonoscli) must be installed, and the Sonos system must be on the local network. Favorites need to be set up in the Sonos app before the skill can play them.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-speakers -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/c-speakers/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/c-speakers/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-speakers -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/c-speakers/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-speakers -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/c-speakers/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install daxaur/openpaw c-speakers
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/c-speakers/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-speakers -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/daxaur/openpaw --path skills/c-speakers
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/c-speakers/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-speakers -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- start or pause Sonos playback in a chosen room
- set a speaker’s volume to a specific level
- skip to the next or previous track
- join rooms into a group or separate them
- play a Sonos favorite in a selected room

## What This Skill Does

Enables Claude to control Sonos speakers — playback, volume, grouping, and favorites — via the `sonos` CLI.

## Available CLI Tool: `sonos`

### Common Commands

```bash
# List all Sonos rooms/players
sonos rooms
# Play and pause
sonos play --room "Living Room"
sonos pause --room "Living Room"
# Skip tracks
sonos next --room "Living Room"
sonos previous --room "Living Room"
# Set volume (0-100)
sonos volume 50 --room "Living Room"
# Adjust volume relative
sonos volume +10 --room "Kitchen"
sonos volume -5 --room "Kitchen"
# Play a favorite (from Sonos app favorites)
sonos favorite "Morning Jazz" --room "Bedroom"
# List favorites
sonos favorites
# Group rooms together
sonos group "Kitchen" --with "Living Room"
# Ungroup a room
sonos ungroup "Kitchen"
# Show now playing info
sonos status --room "Living Room"
```

## Usage Guidelines

- Always specify `--room` to target the correct speaker
- Use `sonos rooms` to discover available rooms if unsure of names
- Grouping joins a room into the specified room's group

## Notes

- Requires `sonos` CLI (sonoscli) installed and Sonos system on local network
- Favorites must be pre-configured in the Sonos app
