## What it does

This skill teaches the coding agent how to run `terminal-notifier` on macOS. The assistant triggers desktop banners, sets custom titles, adds default alert sounds, or assigns a custom application icon.

macOS notification banners truncate long text. Keep them brief. Using the `-group` flag prevents notification clutter by replacing previous alerts in the same stream. Banners can also open URLs or switch focus to specific apps when clicked.

The commands fail completely without `terminal-notifier` available in your macOS environment.

## When to use it
- alert the user with audio when a long build completes
- create clickable notification banners that open a pull request URL
- bundle progress updates under a shared group to avoid desktop clutter
- activate a specific desktop app when an alert is clicked

## Example prompts
- Send a native sound notification once the build finishes.
- Post a desktop alert with a link to the merged PR.
- Report migration progress in the terminal using the migrate notification group.

## Guidelines

- Use notifications to alert the user when long tasks complete
- Group related notifications so they don't spam
- Add `-sound default` for important alerts
- Use `-open URL` to make notifications actionable
- Keep messages short — notifications truncate long text
