## What it does

The skill documents the `spogo` CLI and passes its commands to the agent. Play and pause, next and previous, searching a track, album or playlist, starting a playlist by name or URI, adding a track to the queue, setting volume, listing saved playlists — each of those goes through `spogo`.

The skill advises running `spogo status` first to see what is on. When a search returns something ambiguous, confirm the pick with you before it plays. Volume takes an integer from 0 to 100.

For any of this to work, `spogo` needs Spotify OAuth credentials already configured, and the account has to be Premium. Spotify also has to be open on at least one device — with no active client, the commands do nothing.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-music -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/c-music/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/c-music/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-music -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/c-music/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-music -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/c-music/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install daxaur/openpaw c-music
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/c-music/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-music -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/daxaur/openpaw --path skills/c-music
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/c-music/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-music -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/daxaur/openpaw/tree/HEAD/skills/c-music/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- pause or resume whatever is playing
- jump to the next or previous track
- find a track or album by name and start it
- add a song to the playback queue
- check the current track and set the volume

## Example prompts
- Pause the music and tell me what's playing.
- Search for the album "Dark Side of the Moon" and play it.
- Queue the track with URI `spotify:track:TRACK_ID`.

## What This Skill Does

Enables Claude to control Spotify playback and search music via the `spogo` CLI tool.

## Available CLI Tool: `spogo`

### Common Commands

```bash
# Play/pause toggle
spogo play
spogo pause
# Skip to next or previous track
spogo next
spogo prev
# Search and play a track
spogo search track "Bohemian Rhapsody" --play
# Search an album and play it
spogo search album "Dark Side of the Moon" --play
# Search playlists
spogo search playlist "chill vibes"
# Play a specific playlist by name or URI
spogo queue add "spotify:track:TRACK_ID"
# Show current playback status
spogo status
# Set volume (0-100)
```

## Usage Guidelines

- Use `spogo status` first to check what is currently playing
- When searching, confirm the result with the user before playing if ambiguous
- Volume is a 0–100 integer scale

## Notes

- Requires `spogo` configured with Spotify OAuth credentials
- Playback requires an active Spotify Premium account
- Spotify must be open on at least one device for commands to work
