## What it does

The skill works through the `linear` CLI. It can list issues and filter them by team or state, create new ones, and change their status, assignee, or priority. It recommends checking the issue list before creating a task to avoid duplicates.

Run `linear issue start` to create a Git branch tied to an issue and update its status. Use `linear pr create` to open a linked PR. Authentication with `linear auth` is required first, so the CLI cannot manage issues until that step is complete. Priority values run from 1 (Urgent) to 4 (Low).

## Requirements
- Works with: Linear

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-linear -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/c-linear/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/c-linear/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-linear -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/c-linear/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-linear -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/c-linear/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install daxaur/openpaw c-linear
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/c-linear/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-linear -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/daxaur/openpaw --path skills/c-linear
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/c-linear/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-linear -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/daxaur/openpaw/tree/HEAD/skills/c-linear/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- find issues by team or state
- create an issue with a description and priority
- change an issue's status or assign it to yourself
- start work on a branch linked to an issue
- create a PR connected to a Linear issue

## Example prompts
- Show my `ENG` issues with the state `In Progress`.
- Create an `ENG` issue titled `Fix login redirect bug` with priority 2 and the `bug` label.
- Start work on `ENG-123` and create a linked PR.

## What This Skill Does

Uses the `linear` CLI to manage Linear issues — list, create, update, and transition issues, as well as start work and create linked PRs.

## CLI Tool: `linear`

### List & View Issues

```bash
linear issue list                          # List your assigned issues
linear issue list --team ENG               # Filter by team
linear issue list --state "In Progress"    # Filter by state
linear issue view ENG-123                  # View issue details
```

### Create Issues

```bash
linear issue create \
  --title "Fix login redirect bug" \
  --description "Users are redirected to /home instead of /dashboard" \
  --team ENG \
  --priority 2 \
  --label bug
```

### Update & Transition Issues

```bash
linear issue update ENG-123 --state "In Progress"
linear issue update ENG-123 --assignee me
linear issue update ENG-123 --priority 1
```

### Start Work

```bash
# Creates a git branch linked to the issue
linear issue start ENG-123
```

### Create a PR

```bash
# Creates a PR linked to the Linear issue
linear pr create ENG-123
```

## Usage Guidelines

1. Use `linear issue list` before creating issues to avoid duplicates.
2. When starting work, `linear issue start` handles branch creation and status update in one command.
3. Use issue identifiers (e.g., `ENG-123`) consistently — they are case-insensitive.

## Notes

- Requires `linear auth` to be completed before use.
- Priority levels: 1 = Urgent, 2 = High, 3 = Medium, 4 = Low
