## What it does

The skill teaches the agent how to run terminal utilities for calendar management. For Google Calendar, it relies on the `gog` command-line tool. The agent can list upcoming events, fetch details, inspect schedule conflicts via `gog cal freebusy`, and create appointments using natural phrasing like "tomorrow 2pm". Multi-account setups are handled with the `--account` option.

Apple Calendar integration uses `icalBuddy`, which reads directly from macOS local calendar storage without extra logins. Because `icalBuddy` is strictly read-only, event creation on macOS falls back to AppleScript through `osascript`. The skill will fail unless you have installed and authenticated `gog` with `gog auth` or placed `icalBuddy` in your system path.

## Requirements
- Works with: Google Workspace

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-calendar -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/c-calendar/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/c-calendar/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-calendar -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/c-calendar/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-calendar -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/c-calendar/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install daxaur/openpaw c-calendar
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/c-calendar/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-calendar -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/daxaur/openpaw --path skills/c-calendar
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/c-calendar/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-calendar -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/daxaur/openpaw/tree/HEAD/skills/c-calendar/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- check agenda and schedule conflicts before booking meetings
- add Google Calendar events with attendees using natural language dates
- inspect upcoming entries across specific calendars like Work
- fetch incomplete tasks and reminders from macOS Calendar

## Example prompts
- Check my free slots for tomorrow afternoon and schedule a sync with `bob@x.com`
- List all calendar events for the next 7 days from my Work calendar
- Show incomplete tasks from Apple Calendar

This skill manages calendars via `gog` (Google Calendar) or `icalBuddy` (Apple Calendar). Check availability with `which gog icalBuddy`.

## Google Calendar — `gog cal` (gogcli)

```bash
gog cal list                               # List upcoming events
gog cal list --days 7                      # Next 7 days
gog cal list --calendar "Work"             # Specific calendar
gog cal list --start "2026-03-01" --end "2026-03-07"
gog cal get <event-id>                     # Get event details
gog cal create --title "Meeting" --start "2026-03-01T10:00" --end "2026-03-01T11:00"
gog cal create --title "Event" --start "tomorrow 2pm" --duration 1h --calendar "Work"
gog cal create --attendees "alice@x.com,bob@x.com" --title "Sync"
gog cal update <event-id> --title "New Title"
gog cal delete <event-id>
gog cal calendars                          # List all calendars
gog cal freebusy --start "tomorrow" --end "tomorrow 5pm"
```

## Apple Calendar — `icalBuddy`

```bash
icalBuddy eventsToday                        # Today's events
icalBuddy eventsToday+3                      # Events today through next 3 days
icalBuddy eventsFrom:"2026-03-01" to:"2026-03-07"
icalBuddy -ic "Work" eventsToday             # Specific calendar
icalBuddy calendars                          # List all calendars
icalBuddy uncompletedTasks                   # Incomplete reminders/tasks
```

## Usage Guidelines

- Use `gog cal freebusy` to check availability before scheduling.
- `icalBuddy` is read-only for Apple Calendar — use it for viewing, not creating.
- For creating Apple Calendar events programmatically, prefer `gog` with Google Calendar or use AppleScript via the `osascript` fallback.
- Dates accept natural language with `gog` ("tomorrow 2pm", "next Monday 9am").

## Notes

- `gog` requires Google OAuth: `gog auth`.
- `icalBuddy` reads directly from the local Calendar database (no auth needed).
- Multiple Google accounts supported via `gog cal --account work list`.
