## What it does

The skill explains how to find apps with `mas search`, install them by ID, and check for updates. You can also use `mas list` to see installed apps, while `mas info` shows app details and `mas open` opens an app’s App Store page.

You must be signed in to the Mac App Store. On macOS 15 and later, installing or updating requires an administrator password. Paid apps work after purchase. Since `mas upgrade` updates every app with an available update, confirm with the user before running it.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-apps -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/c-apps/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/c-apps/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-apps -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/c-apps/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-apps -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/c-apps/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install daxaur/openpaw c-apps
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/c-apps/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-apps -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/daxaur/openpaw --path skills/c-apps
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/c-apps/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-apps -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/daxaur/openpaw/tree/HEAD/skills/c-apps/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- find an app’s Mac App Store ID
- install an app by its ID
- list installed apps
- check which apps have updates
- update a selected app with `mas`

## Example prompts
