## What it does

The skill hunts down people on Twitter/X who actually write about your topic and turns them into a contact table. You give it a beat, target publications, writer type (staff, freelance or both), geography and list size. From there the agent runs five steps: clarify parameters, search tweets on the beat, enrich profiles, filter for journalist signals, deliver the list.

It runs on the `apidojo/twitter-user-scraper` and `apidojo/tweet-scraper` actors on Apify. A `scripts/run_actor.js` helper waits for the run and saves output as CSV or JSON, with a REST API call as fallback. You need `APIFY_TOKEN` in your environment or a `.env` file — nothing starts without it. The Apify MCP server is optional.

Output covers name, `@handle`, publication from the bio, beat, follower count and recent coverage, grouped by publication and freelancers, plus pitch angle notes. The filter drops PR and comms people, brand accounts and academics with no press credentials. When too many non-journalists slip through, the skill suggests tightening the bio check to the exact words "reporter", "journalist" or "editor".
