## What it does

The skill helps classify a Zoom Phone integration before implementation. It covers REST API automation, webhook event handling, Smart Embed, URI launches, CRM dialers, and call-control workflows. It also separates call control, call records, number management, and webhook processing into distinct modules.

For Smart Embed, the guidance focuses on `postMessage` event contracts, embedding limits, and mapping CRM state. Included materials cover architecture and lifecycle, a Phone API service pattern, an embed bridge, event contracts, and common issues. Before coding, confirm account settings, phone entitlements, and OAuth scopes. Debugging can fail when the license, role permissions, number ownership, webhook subscriptions, or event payload shape do not match.

## Install

### Codex (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add openai/plugins --skill phone -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/phone/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Claude Code

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add openai/plugins --skill phone -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/phone/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/phone/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/phone/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install openai/plugins phone
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/phone/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/openai/plugins --path plugins/zoom/skills/phone
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/phone/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/openai/plugins/tree/HEAD/plugins/zoom/skills/phone/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- design a Zoom Phone REST API integration
- process call events through webhooks
- connect Smart Embed to CRM state
- split call control from call records
- verify OAuth scopes and phone permissions

## Example prompts
- Design a Zoom Phone CRM integration that handles call events through webhooks.
- Split the implementation into modules for call control, call records, number management, and webhook processing.
- Review the Smart Embed design, including `postMessage` contracts, embedding constraints, and CRM state mapping.

# Build Zoom Phone Integration

Use this skill when the target workflow is Zoom Phone, CTI, CRM calling, call events, or Smart Embed behavior.

## Workflow

1. Classify the integration: REST API automation, webhook event processing, Smart Embed, URI launch, CRM dialer, or call-handling workflow.
2. Confirm the actor, account settings, phone entitlements, and OAuth scopes before implementation.
3. Keep call control, call records, number management, and webhook processing as separate modules.
4. For Smart Embed, validate postMessage event contracts, embedding constraints, and CRM state mapping.
5. Debug by checking scopes, phone license, role permissions, number ownership, webhook subscriptions, and event payload shape.
