## What it does

voice-extractor examines an author's writing and describes its tone, vocabulary, sentence rhythm, structure, and recurring expressions. The resulting guide gives an AI a concrete style reference and helps a ghostwriter or content team follow the same voice.

Choose `quick` for a compact profile with key traits and language to avoid, `standard` for a complete style guide, or `deep` for a guide with rewrite samples, a writing-rules checklist, and AI training examples. The standard mode is the default. Before building the profile, the skill evaluates sample quality, checks for differences between contexts, and filters out quirks caused by platform formatting or editing. It then presents contrasting test sentences for the user to review.

Full extraction requires at least 500 words of material. With shorter samples, the skill offers a quick profile instead. Casual emails, chat messages, and conversation transcripts are preferred because heavily edited website copy may not reflect how someone naturally writes. The skill supports Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode.

## When to use it
- Document an author's distinctive writing style
- Prepare style references for AI-generated content
- Brief a ghostwriter on tone and recurring expressions
- Separate an author's habits from platform formatting
- Record phrases and language patterns a team should avoid

## Example prompts
- Analyze my writing samples and create a full style guide for AI-generated content in my voice.
- Build a short profile of how I write and list expressions that do not fit my style.
- Prepare an extended voice guide for a ghostwriter, with rewrite examples and a writing-rules checklist.
