# blog-persona

This skill interviews you about your blog voice, turns four tone sliders into a JSON profile, and keeps blog-write and blog-rewrite on the same style.

## What it does

The skill runs a six-step interview. It starts with brand name, industry, target audience and a one-sentence mission. Then you set four tone dimensions on a 0.0 to 1.0 scale: Funny-Serious, Formal-Casual, Respectful-Irreverent, Enthusiastic-Matter-of-fact. If you have no opinion, it suggests starting at `[0.6, 0.5, 0.3, 0.5]`.

Next come the writing rules: vocabulary tier (Consumer, Professional, Technical), a readability band, mean sentence length, its standard deviation, contraction frequency and a cap on passive voice. One step collects do's and don'ts in the CMI Brand Voice Chart style, another picks the label for takeaway boxes — Key Takeaways, The Bottom Line, TL;DR and a few others. At the end you can hand over up to three URLs of your own writing; the skill measures sentence length, contractions and vocabulary level there and flags where the samples disagree with your settings. Only `http` and `https` are allowed, `javascript:`, `data:` and `file:` URLs are rejected, and page text is treated as untrusted data rather than instructions.

The finished profile is written to `<project-root>/.claude-blog/personas/<name>.json` — inside your project, not the installed skill folder. That matters: plugin updates and uninstalls replace the skill directory, so a persona stored there would not survive. Filenames use kebab-case, and path separators, `..`, absolute paths and symlinks are refused.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add AgriciDaniel/claude-blog --skill blog-persona -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/blog-persona/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/blog-persona/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add AgriciDaniel/claude-blog --skill blog-persona -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/blog-persona/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add AgriciDaniel/claude-blog --skill blog-persona -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/blog-persona/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install AgriciDaniel/claude-blog blog-persona
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/blog-persona/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add AgriciDaniel/claude-blog --skill blog-persona -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/AgriciDaniel/claude-blog --path skills/blog-persona
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/blog-persona/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add AgriciDaniel/claude-blog --skill blog-persona -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/AgriciDaniel/claude-blog/tree/HEAD/skills/blog-persona/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- pin a blog voice down with numbers instead of adjectives
- reuse one JSON voice profile across articles
- check whether your real drafts match the tone you claimed
- settle on a fixed label for takeaway boxes
- keep blog-write and blog-rewrite in the same register

## Example prompts
- /blog persona create
- /blog persona use acme-saas
- /blog persona show acme-saas

# Blog Persona - Writing Voice Management

Bundled paths below use host Markdown substitution of `${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}`;
it is not an exported shell variable. Resolve them before execution, quote
paths, and refuse nonabsolute overrides. Pass `blog_reference_root` resolved
from `${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/../blog/references`, `blog_template_root` from
`${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/../blog/templates`, and needed sibling roots to agents.
Read the main reference `orchestration-details.md` before loading project
context; pass only its helper-fenced output to downstream agents.

Create, store, and enforce writing personas based on the NNGroup 4-dimension tone
framework and CMI Brand Voice Chart. Personas ensure consistent voice across all
blog content produced by blog-write and blog-rewrite.

## Commands

| Command | Purpose |
|---------|---------|
| `/blog persona create` | Interactive interview to build a new persona |
| `/blog persona list` | Show all saved personas |
| `/blog persona use <name>` | Set active persona for current session |
| `/blog persona show <name>` | Display full persona profile |

## Create Workflow

Run the 6-step interactive interview. Ask each step, wait for response, then proceed.

### Step 1: Brand Basics

Ask the user for:
- **Brand name** - company or personal brand
- **Industry** - primary sector (e.g., SaaS, health, finance, education)
- **Target audience** - who reads the blog (role, experience level, goals)
- **One-sentence brand mission** - what the brand helps people do

### Step 2: Tone Dimensions (NNGroup Framework)

Present each dimension as a 0.0 to 1.0 slider. Explain both ends with examples.
