## What it does

The skill searches the user's Callimachus index for past discussions, decisions, pitfalls, and unfinished tasks. Search can be limited to the current repository or span projects. It can also answer a question using cited sessions or find earlier conversations that mentioned a file.

When the `callimachus` MCP server is connected, recall uses its tools to read and update Callimachus memory. Saved decisions and pitfalls can then surface in later searches. If MCP is unavailable, the skill can fall back to the `cal` CLI when the app is installed. Search needs one of those connections; without either, recall has no way to query the history.
