## What it does

The skill takes a real moment from inside the business — a decision, a mistake, a milestone — and turns it into a founder-voice post. It runs the REVEAL framework: root the piece in what actually happened, sharpen the specifics and stakes, vet the transparency tier, then pick the voice. "We shipped v2" reads like a press release; "we rewrote checkout twice and refunded 43 orders" reads like behind the scenes.

It reads `brand-profile` and `voice-builder` first, so both files need to be in place — without them the agent knows neither the business nor the founder's voice. Then it sorts the material into tiers: process, decisions and resolved mistakes are shareable; revenue and ongoing struggles need care; customer data, team conflicts, legal and security stay out. The human owns the reveal, and it is permanent.

The skill will not invent a struggle or perform vulnerability for reach. In regulated industries — finance, health, legal — revenue and results claims route through compliance. This is its own content type: not the argued position, not narrative craft, not customer proof, but your view from inside.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill behind-the-scenes-and-founder -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/behind-the-scenes-and-founder/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/behind-the-scenes-and-founder/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill behind-the-scenes-and-founder -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/behind-the-scenes-and-founder/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill behind-the-scenes-and-founder -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/behind-the-scenes-and-founder/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install social-media-skills/skills behind-the-scenes-and-founder
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/behind-the-scenes-and-founder/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill behind-the-scenes-and-founder -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/social-media-skills/skills --path skills/behind-the-scenes-and-founder
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/behind-the-scenes-and-founder/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill behind-the-scenes-and-founder -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/social-media-skills/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/behind-the-scenes-and-founder/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- turn this week's real work into a build-in-public post
- write about a failure without it reading as a complaint
- check what internal detail is safe to publish
- draft a post in first person instead of brand voice
- keep a steady cadence of transparency updates

## Example prompts
- find the real moment from this week and draft a founder-voice post around it
- run the transparency tier check and sharpen the specifics and stakes
- write a build-in-public update about the decision we made yesterday

  The transparency content type — turn what's actually happening inside the business into
  founder/personal-brand content that builds trust: build-in-public updates, founder story,
  how-it's-made content, team culture, and honest struggle posts. Use when someone wants behind
  the scenes, build in public, founder content, a
  personal brand post, or a day in the life. People follow people — founder-voice content
  out-performs brand-page content because it's specific and true. Uses the
  REVEAL framework. Reads brand-profile + voice-builder first. The agent finds the real moment,
  sharpens specifics + stakes, checks the transparency tier (share vs never: customer data, team
  conflicts, legal), and frames it in founder-voice; the human owns the reveal permanently;
  WoopSocial publishes. Never fabricates a struggle, performs vulnerability for reach, or
  exposes customer/team/legal matters. Distinct from contrarian-and-opinion,
  storytelling-and-narrative, social-proof, and the format writers.

# behind-the-scenes-and-founder

The **transparency content type** — find the true moment inside the business, sharpen its specifics and stakes,
check what's safe to reveal, and frame it in the founder's own voice. The **format writers** turn it into cuts,
**WoopSocial publishes**, and the **human owns what gets revealed** — forever.

## The POV: people follow people — but only when the curtain is actually up
Brand pages talk; founders get followed. Founder-voice content reliably out-engages the same message from a logo
(personal profiles out-reach company pages by a wide margin; audiences say founder/employee voices are more
credible than brand voices — see the reality file). But the mechanism isn't "being personal" — it's
**specificity + stakes + honesty**. A real number ("we lost our biggest client, 31% of MRR"), a real decision
("we killed the feature 60% of users asked for — here's why"), a real process (the messy v1 next to the launch
shot). Two counterfeits fail: **manufactured vulnerability** (the cried-in-my-car post engineered for reach —
audiences smell it, and it's the defining cringe of the genre) and the **humble-brag** (a "mistake" that's
