## What it does

This skill covers the `Azure.ResourceManager.WeightsAndBiases` package, an Azure Resource Manager SDK for .NET. The agent gets C# samples for spinning up a Weights & Biases instance from Azure Marketplace, reading its provisioning state, and editing an existing deployment.

The samples show how to build instance data with marketplace offer details, admin user fields, region and subdomain, then call `CreateOrUpdateAsync`. Listing works at two levels: per resource group and per subscription. There is also a patch example for tags and a block that turns on SAML single sign-on through Entra ID. Authentication runs through `DefaultAzureCredential`, or you can pick a credential class directly, such as `ManagedIdentityCredential`.

Three environment variables are required: `AZURE_SUBSCRIPTION_ID`, `AZURE_RESOURCE_GROUP` and `AZURE_WANDB_INSTANCE_NAME`. In production with `DefaultAzureCredential` you also set `AZURE_TOKEN_CREDENTIALS=prod`. The package is still in preview, so the install line needs `--prerelease`.

## Requirements
- Works with: Azure

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add microsoft/skills --skill azure-mgmt-weightsandbiases-dotnet -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/azure-mgmt-weightsandbiases-dotnet/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/azure-mgmt-weightsandbiases-dotnet/

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/azure-mgmt-weightsandbiases-dotnet/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/azure-mgmt-weightsandbiases-dotnet/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install microsoft/skills azure-mgmt-weightsandbiases-dotnet
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/azure-mgmt-weightsandbiases-dotnet/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/microsoft/skills --path .github/plugins/azure-sdk-dotnet/skills/azure-mgmt-weightsandbiases-dotnet
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/azure-mgmt-weightsandbiases-dotnet/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/microsoft/skills/tree/HEAD/.github/plugins/azure-sdk-dotnet/skills/azure-mgmt-weightsandbiases-dotnet/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- deploy a Weights & Biases instance from Azure Marketplace
- turn on Entra ID single sign-on for a W&B deployment
- list every W&B instance in a subscription
- patch tags on an existing instance
- check the provisioning state of an instance

## Example prompts
- Create a Weights & Biases instance in `my-resource-group` with the EastUS region
- List all W&B instances in my Azure subscription
- Enable SSO through Entra ID for `my-wandb-instance`

# Azure.ResourceManager.WeightsAndBiases (.NET)

Azure Resource Manager SDK for deploying and managing Weights & Biases ML experiment tracking instances via Azure Marketplace.

## Installation

```bash
dotnet add package Azure.ResourceManager.WeightsAndBiases --prerelease
dotnet add package Azure.Identity
```

**Current Version**: v1.0.0-beta.1 (preview)
**API Version**: 2024-09-18-preview

## Environment Variables

```bash
AZURE_SUBSCRIPTION_ID=<your-subscription-id> # Required: Azure subscription ID
AZURE_RESOURCE_GROUP=<your-resource-group> # Required: Azure resource group name
AZURE_WANDB_INSTANCE_NAME=<your-wandb-instance> # Required: Weights & Biases instance name
AZURE_TOKEN_CREDENTIALS=prod  # Required only if DefaultAzureCredential is used in production
```

## Authentication

```csharp
using Azure.Identity;
using Azure.ResourceManager;
using Azure.ResourceManager.WeightsAndBiases;
// Local dev: DefaultAzureCredential. Production: set AZURE_TOKEN_CREDENTIALS=prod or AZURE_TOKEN_CREDENTIALS=<specific_credential>
var credential = new DefaultAzureCredential(
    DefaultAzureCredential.DefaultEnvironmentVariableName
);
// Or use a specific credential directly in production:
// See https://learn.microsoft.com/dotnet/api/overview/azure/identity-readme?view=azure-dotnet#credential-classes
// var credential = new ManagedIdentityCredential();
ArmClient client = new ArmClient(credential);
```

## Resource Hierarchy

```
Subscription
└── ResourceGroup
    └── WeightsAndBiasesInstance    # W&B deployment from Azure Marketplace
        ├── Properties
        │   ├── Marketplace          # Offer details, plan, publisher
        │   ├── User                 # Admin user info
        │   ├── PartnerProperties    # W&B-specific config (region, subdomain)
        │   └── SingleSignOnPropertiesV2  # Entra ID SSO configuration
        └── Identity                 # Managed identity (optional)
```

## Core Workflows

### 1. Create Weights & Biases Instance

```csharp
using Azure.ResourceManager.WeightsAndBiases;
using Azure.ResourceManager.WeightsAndBiases.Models;
ResourceGroupResource resourceGroup = await client
    .GetDefaultSubscriptionAsync()
    .Result
    .GetResourceGroupAsync("my-resource-group");
WeightsAndBiasesInstanceCollection instances = resourceGroup.GetWeightsAndBiasesInstances();
