## What it does

The skill provides Java integration patterns for `com.azure:azure-ai-anomalydetector` version `3.0.0-beta.6`. It directs the assistant to initialize `UnivariateClient` and `MultivariateClient` using `AzureKeyCredential` or `DefaultAzureCredential`.

For univariate metrics, it covers batch evaluation, live checks on the latest point, and change point tracking. A batch detection call will fail without at least 12 data points. Multivariate mode evaluates 300+ correlated signals using a Graph Attention Network.

Multivariate training runs in three steps: data submission, training execution, and status polling. Input datasets must come from Azure Blob Storage as a zip archive with a SAS token.

## Requirements
- Works with: Azure

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add microsoft/skills --skill azure-ai-anomalydetector-java -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/azure-ai-anomalydetector-java/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/azure-ai-anomalydetector-java/

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/azure-ai-anomalydetector-java/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/azure-ai-anomalydetector-java/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install microsoft/skills azure-ai-anomalydetector-java
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/azure-ai-anomalydetector-java/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/microsoft/skills --path .github/plugins/azure-sdk-java/skills/azure-ai-anomalydetector-java
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/azure-ai-anomalydetector-java/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/microsoft/skills/tree/HEAD/.github/plugins/azure-sdk-java/skills/azure-ai-anomalydetector-java/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- configure UnivariateClient and MultivariateClient in Java
- detect anomalies across entire time-series batches
- evaluate incoming streaming data points in real time
- train multivariate anomaly models on Blob Storage archives
- spot trend change points in temporal metrics

## Example prompts
- Generate Java code to inspect the latest streaming data point with UnivariateClient.
- Show how to train a multivariate Anomaly Detector model using SAS blob data.
- Add com.azure:azure-ai-anomalydetector and write a batch time-series detection method.

# Azure AI Anomaly Detector SDK for Java

Build anomaly detection applications using the Azure AI Anomaly Detector SDK for Java.

## Installation

```xml
<dependency>
  <groupId>com.azure</groupId>
  <artifactId>azure-ai-anomalydetector</artifactId>
  <version>3.0.0-beta.6</version>
</dependency>
```

## Client Creation

### Sync and Async Clients

```java
import com.azure.ai.anomalydetector.AnomalyDetectorClientBuilder;
import com.azure.ai.anomalydetector.MultivariateClient;
import com.azure.ai.anomalydetector.UnivariateClient;
import com.azure.core.credential.AzureKeyCredential;
String endpoint = System.getenv("AZURE_ANOMALY_DETECTOR_ENDPOINT");
String key = System.getenv("AZURE_ANOMALY_DETECTOR_API_KEY");
// Multivariate client for multiple correlated signals
MultivariateClient multivariateClient = new AnomalyDetectorClientBuilder()
    .credential(new AzureKeyCredential(key))
    .endpoint(endpoint)
    .buildMultivariateClient();
// Univariate client for single variable analysis
UnivariateClient univariateClient = new AnomalyDetectorClientBuilder()
    .credential(new AzureKeyCredential(key))
    .endpoint(endpoint)
    .buildUnivariateClient();
```

### With DefaultAzureCredential

```java
import com.azure.core.credential.TokenCredential;
import com.azure.identity.AzureIdentityEnvVars;
import com.azure.identity.DefaultAzureCredentialBuilder;
import com.azure.identity.ManagedIdentityCredentialBuilder;
TokenCredential credential = new DefaultAzureCredentialBuilder()
    .requireEnvVars(AzureIdentityEnvVars.AZURE_TOKEN_CREDENTIALS)
    .build();
// Or use a specific credential directly in production:
// See https://learn.microsoft.com/java/api/overview/azure/identity-readme?view=azure-java-stable#credential-classes
// TokenCredential credential = new ManagedIdentityCredentialBuilder().build();
MultivariateClient client = new AnomalyDetectorClientBuilder()
    .credential(credential)
    .endpoint(endpoint)
    .buildMultivariateClient();
```

## Key Concepts

### Univariate Anomaly Detection
- **Batch Detection**: Analyze entire time series at once
- **Streaming Detection**: Real-time detection on latest data point
- **Change Point Detection**: Detect trend changes in time series

### Multivariate Anomaly Detection
- Detect anomalies across 300+ correlated signals
- Uses Graph Attention Network for inter-correlations
- Three-step process: Train → Inference → Results

## Core Patterns

### Univariate Batch Detection

```java
import com.azure.ai.anomalydetector.models.*;
import java.time.OffsetDateTime;
import java.util.List;
List<TimeSeriesPoint> series = List.of(
    new TimeSeriesPoint(OffsetDateTime.parse("2023-01-01T00:00:00Z"), 1.0),
    new TimeSeriesPoint(OffsetDateTime.parse("2023-01-02T00:00:00Z"), 2.5),
    // ... more data points (minimum 12 points required)
);
