# axiom-games

A router skill for Apple game work: it sends SpriteKit, SceneKit and RealityKit questions to the right reference, diagnostic guide or input doc.

## What it does

The skill splits game work across narrow references. SpriteKit architecture and patterns sit in `skills/spritekit.md`, API lookup in `skills/spritekit-ref.md`, and `skills/spritekit-diag.md` covers frame drops, physics contacts that never fire and touches that do not register. Touch controls and controller input through `TouchController` and `GCController` are in `skills/game-input.md`.

3D lives in neighbouring suites. RealityKit and SceneKit are in axiom-graphics, in-game purchases and asset packs in axiom-integration, window resizing and orientation lock in axiom-uikit. SceneKit is marked soft-deprecated as of iOS 26, so a new 3D project has little reason to start there. On 27 every game window resizes: `UIRequiresFullScreen` now means discrete snap-resizing, not an opt-out from fullscreen.

There is an automated pass too. `axiom-audit-spritekit` scans SpriteKit code for anti-patterns. Under Codex the auditors are invoked as skills rather than separate Claude Code agents, and the ones that shell out need real shell access. Builds, tests, simulators and crash symbolication will not run without it.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add CharlesWiltgen/Axiom --skill axiom-games -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/axiom-games/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/axiom-games/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add CharlesWiltgen/Axiom --skill axiom-games -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/axiom-games/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add CharlesWiltgen/Axiom --skill axiom-games -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/axiom-games/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install CharlesWiltgen/Axiom axiom-games
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/axiom-games/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add CharlesWiltgen/Axiom --skill axiom-games -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/CharlesWiltgen/Axiom --path axiom-codex/skills/axiom-games
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/axiom-games/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add CharlesWiltgen/Axiom --skill axiom-games -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/CharlesWiltgen/Axiom/tree/HEAD/axiom-codex/skills/axiom-games/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- route a game task to the right SpriteKit reference
- add on-screen touch controls to a 2D game
- wire up a controller with `GCController`
- trace why physics contacts never fire
- scan SpriteKit code for anti-patterns

## Example prompts
- Add touch controls to my SpriteKit game with `TouchController`.
- Frame rate keeps dropping in my SpriteKit scene, walk me through `skills/spritekit-diag.md`.
- Run `axiom-audit-spritekit` over the game code and list the anti-patterns.
