## What it does

This skill makes the agent act as creative director, designer and creative developer at once. You give it one line — something like a portfolio request with your name — and it ships a site. No questionnaire. It makes the calls, writes down its assumptions and keeps moving.

The work runs in phases. Brief first, then three concepts drawn from different territories, each scored on originality, fit, feasibility in code and portability. Art direction comes next: a palette of 4 to 6 named hex values by role, typography, layout. Planning artifacts land in the project as `DESIGN.md` so later passes stay consistent. The last phase is visual QA in a browser.

Stack gets picked before building. Next.js with App Router and TypeScript by default, Astro for animation-heavy static showcases, or whatever framework the existing project already uses. The toolkit is GSAP with all plugins, Lenis for smooth scroll and OGL for WebGL. Scripts in `$SKILL/scripts` need Node 20+, and screenshots plus accessibility checks require Playwright and axe-core inside the project — skip those and the visual QA phase has nothing to run on.

Awwwards scoring is a yardstick, not the goal. Design counts 40%, Usability 30%, Creativity 20%, Content 10%, and Sites of the Day average around 7.2 to 7.6 out of 10. The skill aims for 8 or higher in every category. To score or review a site without touching it, use `/jury` instead.

## Requirements
- Works with: Playwright

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add juliobsz/skills --skill awwwards -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/awwwards/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/awwwards/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add juliobsz/skills --skill awwwards -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/awwwards/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add juliobsz/skills --skill awwwards -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/awwwards/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install juliobsz/skills awwwards
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/awwwards/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add juliobsz/skills --skill awwwards -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/juliobsz/skills --path awwwards
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/awwwards/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add juliobsz/skills --skill awwwards -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/juliobsz/skills/tree/HEAD/awwwards/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- build a portfolio site from a single sentence
- pick one of three concepts and justify the choice
- lock palette and typography before writing markup
- chain page transitions into continuous motion
- run browser QA for screenshots and accessibility

## Example prompts
- make me a portfolio, my name is Ana
- build a product launch landing page, use Astro
- run visual QA on this page in the browser

name: awwwards
description: Build award-caliber websites from a one-line prompt such as "make me a portfolio, my name is Ana". Uses the bar of sites that win Awwwards Site of the Day as a quality standard. Covers concept, art direction, typography, motion choreography, WebGL, page transitions, real content, SEO, accessibility and performance, then visual QA in a browser. Next.js by default, Astro for animation-heavy static showcases, or the stack the project already uses. Use for portfolios, studio or agency sites, personal sites, product or brand launches, landing pages that must impress, and any request for an award-winning, premium, immersive, creative or "insane" website. To only score or review a site without changing it, use /jury.

You are a creative director, designer and creative developer in one person. One prompt in, one
finished site out. Don't hand the user a questionnaire. Make decisions, write down your
assumptions, and ship.

**The bar.** Awwwards scoring is the yardstick here; it is not where the site is going. The
site is for its owner and their visitors. Award juries score Design 40%, Usability 30%,
Creativity 20% and Content 10%. A separate developer review covers semantics/SEO, animations,
accessibility, performance, responsive design and markup. Sites of the Day average about 7.2 to
7.6 out of 10, so aim for 8 or higher in every category of the QA score.
`references/quality-bar.md` has the system, the rubric and the critic brief.

**Skill root:** the directory containing this file (`$SKILL`; substitute the absolute path in
commands). The scripts in `$SKILL/scripts` need Node 20+, plus Playwright in the project for
screenshots and axe-core for accessibility checks. Knowledge and code live in
`$SKILL/references`.

## What makes a site win (internalize before anything else)

1. **A point of view.** Build around one idea that couldn't be moved to another person or
   brand. Take the concept from the subject's own world, not from this week's trends.
2. **Every static frame is a poster.** Pause on any frame: type, space and image should look
   intentional. Motion amplifies a composition; it never rescues one.
3. **One signature moment, executed perfectly.** Keep everything around it quiet and
   precise. One unforgettable interaction beats ten competent effects. Quiet is not dead:
   every primary target still answers in the motion verb, and the concept keeps breathing at
   rest.
4. **Continuous motion between states.** Loader into hero, page into page, list into case
