## What it does

The skill drives `pinpoint-sms-voice-v2` along two short paths. One builds a branded RCS agent — logo, banner, cards, suggested replies — adds verified testers, then sends and receives the first message. The other sets up Notify so a one-time passcode goes out on AWS-managed numbers. No number purchase, no carrier registration.

After onboarding comes registration. The skill reads live API definitions to find out which registration type a country needs, then runs one lifecycle: create, derive fields, fill, submit, poll, recover from a denial, resubmit. That same engine covers 10DLC, toll-free, short code, sender ID, RCS country launch and the Notify tier upgrade.

You need working AWS credentials. Start with `aws sts get-caller-identity --region <REGION>` and scope the policy to the `sms-voice:` actions your path actually uses. RCS test agents reach verified devices only; Notify sticks to AWS-managed OTP templates. A command that answers `Invalid choice` points at a stale local service model rather than missing permissions, so clear the `~/.aws/models/pinpoint-sms-voice-v2/` override or upgrade the CLI.

## Requirements
- Works with: AWS

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aws/agent-toolkit-for-aws --skill aws-sms-voice -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/aws-sms-voice/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/aws-sms-voice/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aws/agent-toolkit-for-aws --skill aws-sms-voice -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/aws-sms-voice/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aws/agent-toolkit-for-aws --skill aws-sms-voice -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/aws-sms-voice/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install aws/agent-toolkit-for-aws aws-sms-voice
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/aws-sms-voice/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aws/agent-toolkit-for-aws --skill aws-sms-voice -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/aws/agent-toolkit-for-aws --path skills/specialized-skills/customer-communications-skills/aws-sms-voice
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/aws-sms-voice/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aws/agent-toolkit-for-aws --skill aws-sms-voice -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/aws/agent-toolkit-for-aws/tree/HEAD/skills/specialized-skills/customer-communications-skills/aws-sms-voice/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- spin up a branded RCS test agent with a logo and banner
- send an OTP code through AWS-managed numbers
- find out which registration type a country requires
- resubmit a registration after a denial
- take an identity out of the SMS sandbox

## Example prompts
- Create a branded RCS test agent and send the first message to my verified test device.
- Set up Notify and send me an OTP code through AWS.
- Check what registration a sender ID needs in this country and submit it.

  Onboards RCS Business Messaging and Notify OTP via the pinpoint-sms-voice-v2

  (OTP) verification codes through AWS-managed phone numbers without buying a

# AWS End User Messaging — SMS, Voice, RCS & Notify

## Overview

AWS End User Messaging SMS and Voice (the `pinpoint-sms-voice-v2` API) is the
control and data plane for SMS, Voice, RCS Business Messaging, and Notify (OTP).
This skill covers the two fastest onboarding paths — each reaches
a real message on a real phone in about five minutes, with no phone-number
purchase and no carrier registration:

1. **Create an RCS test agent and send your first branded message** — a branded
   RCS Business Messaging agent, a verified test device, and a rich outbound +
   inbound message. See [references/hello-rcs-test-agent.md](references/hello-rcs-test-agent.md).
2. **Send an OTP with Notify** — a one-time-passcode text through
   AWS-managed sending identities and pre-approved templates. See
   [references/hello-notify-otp.md](references/hello-notify-otp.md).

Beyond onboarding, this skill takes an identity to production registration in three steps:

1. **Find which registration a country requires** — discover the registration type and
   its live field set for a target country and identity type, reconciled with the
   official docs. See [references/registration-requirements-by-country.md](references/registration-requirements-by-country.md).
2. **Run the registration lifecycle** — the universal engine (create, derive fields,
