## What it does

The skill maps nine AgentCore services and picks the right one for the job. Gateway turns REST APIs into MCP tools, Runtime deploys and scales agents, Memory keeps conversation state, Identity handles credentials, Code Interpreter runs code in a sandbox, Browser automates the web, Observability collects traces, Agent Registry catalogs agents and tools, and Evaluations scores quality with LLM-as-a-Judge.

Inside you get a service-selection table, a README per service, and walkthroughs for cross-service work: deploying a Gateway target, managing credentials, registering MCP servers, monitoring. Before answering, the skill insists on checking AWS facts through the MCP tools `mcp__acdocs__*` and `mcp__aws-mcp__*`. Without those tools you have to run the `aws-mcp-setup` dependency first, or the agent answers from memory.

Agent Registry is in Preview and lives in five regions: us-east-1, us-west-2, eu-west-1, ap-northeast-1, ap-southeast-2. A `PreToolUse` hook fires once before any `aws bedrock-agentcore-control create-*` call and runs `aws sts get-caller-identity` — worth knowing if you keep a personal profile next to a work one.

## Requirements
- Works with: AWS

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add zxkane/aws-skills --skill aws-agentic-ai -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/aws-agentic-ai/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/aws-agentic-ai/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add zxkane/aws-skills --skill aws-agentic-ai -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/aws-agentic-ai/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add zxkane/aws-skills --skill aws-agentic-ai -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/aws-agentic-ai/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install zxkane/aws-skills aws-agentic-ai
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/aws-agentic-ai/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add zxkane/aws-skills --skill aws-agentic-ai -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/zxkane/aws-skills --path plugins/aws-agentic-ai/skills/aws-agentic-ai
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/aws-agentic-ai/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add zxkane/aws-skills --skill aws-agentic-ai -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/zxkane/aws-skills/tree/HEAD/plugins/aws-agentic-ai/skills/aws-agentic-ai/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- deploy an agent to AgentCore Runtime and set up scaling
- turn a REST API into an MCP tool through Gateway
- create an Identity credential provider and link it to a gateway target
- register an MCP server in Agent Registry and push the record through approval
- set up online evaluation and watch scores in CloudWatch

## Example prompts
- Help me deploy an agent to AgentCore Runtime
- Build a Gateway target from this OpenAPI schema and check its status
- Register our MCP server in Agent Registry with metadata

# AWS Bedrock AgentCore

AWS Bedrock AgentCore provides a complete platform for deploying and scaling AI agents with nine core services. This skill covers service selection, deployment patterns, and integration workflows using AWS CLI.

**How to use this skill**: Identify the service(s) the user needs from the table below, then read the corresponding service README before responding. For cross-service patterns (credentials, security, registry integration), check the Cross-Service Resources section. Verify AWS-specific details using the MCP documentation tools.

## AWS Documentation Requirement

Always verify AWS facts using MCP tools before answering. Two documentation sources are available:
- **AgentCore-specific docs** (`mcp__acdocs__*`) — bundled with this plugin, provides `search_agentcore_docs` and `fetch_agentcore_doc` for AgentCore documentation
- **General AWS docs** (`mcp__aws-mcp__*` or `mcp__*awsdocs*__*`) — loaded via the `aws-mcp-setup` dependency for broader AWS documentation

Prefer the AgentCore docs MCP for AgentCore-specific questions. If MCP tools are unavailable, guide the user through the `aws-mcp-setup` skill's setup flow.
