## What it does

The skill builds an inventory of systems that call HubSpot: private apps, service keys, connected apps, internal codebases, middleware, and sync jobs. It checks app logs and source code for version markers, while an optional request to `/account-info/v3/api-usage/daily` measures account-level traffic.

Each caller receives a status. Red covers v1 and v2, amber covers v3, v4, and legacy private apps, while green covers date-based paths with a service key or a projects-based app. The result includes owners, migration tickets, deadlines, and a check for required CRM properties that can reject writes through `2026-09`.

Super Admin access is required to inspect integration settings and app logs. Source access is needed for internal integrations; `HUBSPOT_ACCESS_TOKEN` is only used for the optional account-level usage check. The audit is read-only.

## Requirements
- Works with: HubSpot

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TomGranot/hubspot-admin-skills --skill audit-api-usage -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/audit-api-usage/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/audit-api-usage/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TomGranot/hubspot-admin-skills --skill audit-api-usage -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/audit-api-usage/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TomGranot/hubspot-admin-skills --skill audit-api-usage -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/audit-api-usage/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install TomGranot/hubspot-admin-skills audit-api-usage
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/audit-api-usage/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TomGranot/hubspot-admin-skills --skill audit-api-usage -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/TomGranot/hubspot-admin-skills --path skills/audit-api-usage
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/audit-api-usage/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TomGranot/hubspot-admin-skills --skill audit-api-usage -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

## When to use it
- map every system calling HubSpot APIs
- find v1–v4 endpoint references
- separate private apps from service keys
- assign migration owners and deadlines
- check writes against required CRM properties

## Example prompts
- Audit every HubSpot integration in this repository and build a caller inventory.
- Search the codebase for `/crm/v3/`, `/marketing/v3/`, and `/automation/v4/`, then classify each caller.
- Create a migration checklist for legacy private apps and outdated API versions.

# Audit API Usage Before the 2027 Cutoffs

In March 2026 HubSpot replaced semantic API versioning (v1-v4) with date-based versions (`/2026-09/`-style paths, two releases a year, at least 18 months of support each). Two clocks are now running: **v4 loses support on March 30, 2027**, and **v1-v3 are already unsupported, with enforcement in September 2027**. Separately, HubSpot is retiring legacy private apps in favor of service keys. This skill inventories what in your stack calls HubSpot and produces a migration checklist for both.

## Why This Matters

The deadline fails quietly: unsupported APIs "no longer receive updates, bug fixes, or stability guarantees," and marketplace apps that don't migrate risk losing certification. A portal typically has more callers than anyone remembers — service keys, legacy private apps, marketplace apps, middleware (Zapier/Make), form embeds, internal scripts, data warehouse syncs. Finding them takes an afternoon now or an incident later.

## Key Facts

| Fact | Detail |
|------|--------|
| Current version | `2026-09` (for example `/crm/objects/2026-09/contacts`) |
| Release cadence | March and September, every year; each version is immutable |
| Support lifecycle | At least 18 months per version |
| v4 end of support | **March 30, 2027** |
| v1-v3 status | **Unsupported since September 15, 2026** (no bug fixes, reliability, or security updates); enforcement **September 2027** |
| Legacy private apps | Creation disabled **October 26, 2026** for existing accounts (September 28, 2026 for new ones). Existing apps keep working and must migrate by September 2027 |
| Replacement for private apps | **Service keys** (Settings > Integrations > Service Keys): bearer tokens for REST calls, no webhooks |
| Also deprecated | Legacy v1 OAuth API (token issuance/introspection) |
| Behavior change in `2026-09` | CRM writes enforce admin-configured required and conditionally required properties, returning HTTP 400 where v3 accepted the write |
