## What it does

The skill parses sales calls and customer interviews to extract buyer mental models alongside repeated objections. It maps objections to candidate reframes and breaks motivation down into the four JTBD switching forces: problem push, solution pull, switching anxiety, and habit of the status quo. Every extracted point receives a label: Measured, User-provided, or Estimated.

Output files land in `memory/narrative/audience-belief-mapper/`. The skill does not independently verify comparative claims or quotes. Instead, it marks unverified items with `[needs source]` and routes them directly to `memory/events/claims.ndjson` through `registry-events.py`. The skill is useless without your qualitative notes, because it relies entirely on provided evidence rather than inventing market research.

Its boundary is strictly narrative raw material. It avoids demographic persona building (handled by `audience-mapper`) and leaves positioning canvas scoring to other steps, passing its output directly to `strategic-narrative-designer`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill audience-belief-mapper -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/audience-belief-mapper/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/audience-belief-mapper/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill audience-belief-mapper -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/audience-belief-mapper/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill audience-belief-mapper -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/audience-belief-mapper/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills audience-belief-mapper
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/audience-belief-mapper/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill audience-belief-mapper -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**

gemini skills install https://github.com/aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --path narrative/trace/audience-belief-mapper
```
### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)
**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/audience-belief-mapper/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works
### OpenCode
**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill audience-belief-mapper -a opencode
```
### Claude.ai
## When to use it
- map customer beliefs and mental models from interview notes
- generate reframe candidates for recurring deal objections
- extract the four JTBD switching forces from lost-deal feedback
- flag unverified claims and quotes with `[needs source]`
## Example prompts
- Map the beliefs, objections, and switching forces for [product]'s beachhead. Here are the interview notes: [paste].
- Turn these lost-deal reasons into the JTBD four forces and draft a reframe for each objection: [paste].
- We keep hearing '[objection]'. Capture it, source it to the transcripts, and draft reframe candidates.
