## What it does

This skill serves as the entry router for `appeeky/aso-skills`. It never answers ASO or store optimization requests directly. Instead, it parses incoming prompts, checks them against an intent table, and triggers the proper specialist skill such as `aso-audit`, `keyword-research`, or `paywall-optimization`.

The logic limits activation to three specialist skills at once. For ambiguous prompts, it asks a single clarifying question. If you invoke a specific skill directly (like `/keyword-research`), the router stays out of the way. Note that without the corresponding specialist files under `skills/`, the router has nowhere to hand off the prompt.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add appeeky/aso-skills --skill aso-router -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/aso-router/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/aso-router/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add appeeky/aso-skills --skill aso-router -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/aso-router/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add appeeky/aso-skills --skill aso-router -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/aso-router/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install appeeky/aso-skills aso-router
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/aso-router/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add appeeky/aso-skills --skill aso-router -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/appeeky/aso-skills --path skills/aso-router
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/aso-router/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add appeeky/aso-skills --skill aso-router -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/appeeky/aso-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/aso-router/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- route ambiguous store marketing requests to specialist skills
- sequence audit and keyword tools for full page overhauls
- guide multi-step launch workflows to proper entry points

## Example prompts
- Help me with my app: why am I not ranking in Google Play?
- How should I test screenshots on the App Store?
- /aso-router prepare a launch plan for our iOS app

description: >-
  Single entry point that routes any ASO, App Store, Google Play, app marketing, paid UA,
  monetization, retention, reviews, ratings, market-intel, or app-analytics question to the
  correct specialist skill in this library. Use FIRST whenever the user mentions an app, App
  Store, Play Store, keywords, ranking, downloads, revenue, subscriptions, screenshots, icon,
  reviews, competitors, charts, in-app events, launch, press, or ads — but the right specialized
  skill is not obvious. Triggers: "/aso-router", "/aso-skill", "/aso", "aso help", "help me with
  my app", "I need ASO", "which skill should I use", or any ambiguous app-marketing request. Skip
  this router only when the user explicitly invokes a specific skill (e.g. /aso-audit,
  /keyword-research).

# ASO Router

You are the routing layer for the ASO Skills library. Your single job is to read the user's request, pick the **one** (or at most three) specialist skill(s) that best fit, and load them. Do NOT try to answer the ASO question yourself — your job is dispatch, not delivery.

## How to Use This Skill

1. Read the user's message.
2. Match it against the routing table below.
3. Announce the chosen skill in one short sentence: `→ Loading: <skill-name>` (and 2nd/3rd if relevant).
4. Read `skills/<skill-name>/SKILL.md` and follow it.
5. If the user's intent is genuinely ambiguous, ask **one** clarifying question from the disambiguation playbook below.

Never load more than 3 skills at once. If you would, ask the user to narrow down.

## Routing Table

Match by intent first, then by exact phrase. Top match wins.

|---|---|
| "audit my listing", "ASO score", "why am I not ranking", "review my app store page" | `aso-audit` |

| "write my title", "optimize subtitle", "keyword field", "rewrite description", "character limits" | `metadata-optimization` |
