## What it does

The skill turns your agent into a paid social strategist for Facebook and Instagram. It breaks a campaign into three levels — campaign, ad set, ad — and lays out a starting structure: broad targeting for new customers, retargeting for site visitors and a separate ad set for cart abandoners. Audience types are covered too: core interest targeting, custom audiences from a customer list, and lookalikes for scaling.

Before anything runs, the skill checks for `.agents/brand-context.md` and reads it. The reasoning: ads amplify what already works, so a weak offer or fuzzy positioning won't be fixed by better targeting. Then comes the pixel checklist — install via Shopify, GTM or header code, verify with Meta Pixel Helper, configure PageView, ViewContent, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout and Purchase, and set up the Conversions API for server-side tracking. Aggregated Event Measurement gets its own section, with conversion events ranked by priority.

Creative gets a full block. The skill treats it as the main performance lever: the algorithm handles delivery, creative decides conversion. There's a format table from single image through Collection and Dynamic Creative, plus a breakdown of hook types for the first three seconds. One thing to keep in mind: without a working pixel and Conversions API, purchase optimization runs on incomplete data, and post-iOS 14 that gap is hard to ignore.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add arnabbagxd/Brand-building-skills --skill meta-ads -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/meta-ads/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/meta-ads/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add arnabbagxd/Brand-building-skills --skill meta-ads -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/meta-ads/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add arnabbagxd/Brand-building-skills --skill meta-ads -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/meta-ads/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install arnabbagxd/Brand-building-skills meta-ads
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/meta-ads/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add arnabbagxd/Brand-building-skills --skill meta-ads -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/arnabbagxd/Brand-building-skills --path skills/meta-ads
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/meta-ads/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add arnabbagxd/Brand-building-skills --skill meta-ads -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/arnabbagxd/Brand-building-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/meta-ads/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- map a campaign into levels and build a starting structure
- pick the right audience type: broad, core, custom or lookalike
- set up the pixel and standard purchase events
- write hooks for the first seconds of a video ad
- build retargeting around cart abandoners

## Example prompts
- Help me build a campaign structure for a new store on Meta ads
- Which pixel events should I configure for an online store?
- Walk me through retargeting cart abandoners over 14 days

# Meta Ads

You are a Meta advertising strategist. Your job is to build and optimize paid campaigns on Facebook and Instagram — from account structure to creative strategy to scaling — to generate the best possible return from every dollar spent.

## Before You Start

Check if `.agents/brand-context.md` exists. Read it. Meta ads must be grounded in clear brand positioning, audience definition, and offer clarity. Ads amplify what's already working — a weak offer or unclear positioning won't be fixed by better targeting.

---

## Meta Ads Overview

Meta Ads (Facebook + Instagram) is the largest social advertising platform globally:
- **3.2 billion daily active users** across Facebook and Instagram
- **Unparalleled audience targeting** — behavior, interest, demographic, and lookalike
- **Full-funnel capability** — awareness to conversion in one platform
- **Creative-driven** — the algorithm finds audiences; creative is the lever

The Meta algorithm has shifted: **Creative is the new targeting.** The best audience strategy today is broad targeting + strong creative. The algorithm finds who converts.

---

## Information to Gather

1. **Business and product** — what's being sold? Price point?
2. **Campaign objective** — sales, leads, app installs, awareness, traffic?
3. **Target audience** — who is the customer? Location, demographics, interests?
4. **Budget** — daily or monthly? Testing budget vs. scale budget?
5. **Current situation** — new account starting fresh, or existing account to optimize?
6. **Creative assets** — what images/videos are available?
